Weird that with all those options it does not have pull-straps on the doors. Also isn't that a Caddy steering wheel?

    Pretty car!

    Steering wheel

Yes, a very nice wagon. With gas approaching $5 a gallon, she'd be expensive to run. I noticed the steering wheel, too. Buick seemed to get the hand-me-downs from Cadillac in the '70s. From 1974-76, Cadillac changed to a 3-spoke wheel with a circular, faux-wood center. Buick used that one in 1977.

(Why the heck do I know this?!)

It is a very nice car. However he says he wants more than NADA #1 price and it needs a paint job he says. Needing paint it's probably worth NADA#2 but most cars aren't even selling for what thet're worth in the book. It will be interesting to see what it goes for.

He is CRAZY. Its been repainted once before. I would sell mine for what he has for a bid already and its all original and never been painted. His does have more options, but it is not all original

    What he said

Word. For around $5k or so, I'd do it.

Look closely at the door panels, he says there is no fading. It appears that all four panels are discolored, then look closely at the carpet inserts on the doors. They are all coming lose and the right rear has frayed and actually has fibers hanging down. The right seatbelt d ring is also faded very badly Where are the engines pictures? 74 is the hardest year to find, and it is a nice car. BUT I don't think it is going to meet his reserve

You're exactly right, in my opinion. This car is worth about $5,000. As I write this, he's got a bid of just over that ($5,011). I'd drop the reserve and take that if it went no higher.

He can ask anything he wants. That doesn't mean he'll get it though.

Well the guy is an arrogant jerk. I emailed him and asked about the repaint, discolored panels, carpet issues and asked for under hood pictures and underneath pictures. He emailed back and asked why I wanted to know these things and yes, the carpet pieces were coming loose and everybody knows the lacquer paint on GM's has cracking issues. He then ranted on how I probably couldn't afford it anyway and I was wasting his time. anybody that has read anything about me knows I am a sucker for woodgrain cars, I really wanted a 76 Caprice Estate but this one has all the right options, oh well. I will keep my money and wait for the Caprice Estate

I'd hang onto my money here too. Why is there a cat converter on a 74 model car? I didn't think they showed up until 75? Was it a Cali thing? I remember the cars of that era well, seems the companies had all of them running way hot trying to keep them as clean as possible prior to the cats arriving in 75 and better engine management/fuel controls after that. Maybe this is one that'll "buff right out" but I dunno?
