Hey, cap...do you know anyone that owns a garage? I mean a car repair shop. Maybe he would let you keep it in the back yard of his shop if he knew he would be getting the work to get it up and running as you got the money. Any friends have a dad in the car repair biz? Relatives?
Or, is the deal pretty much dead? Especially now that A1's truck took a hit.

Yeah, Ian. I do too. The kid's trying hard to get a car and everything is, seemingly, stacked against him. I was thinking that I would go get it and bring it back here and get it up and running for him but it's still 9 1/2 hours one way to Cleveland. Just too far. I'm wondering if the owner could maybe help the kid out and deliver it for a reasonable fee since he wants it gone. Maybe some of us here could try and convince him. I would sure like to see cap get the car but, now, it looks like there isn't even a place for him to keep it. Maybe it will work out for the best if he is unable to snare this one. He can save up for awhile and maybe snap up a deal down the road when he is better prepared. There are deals that we find that pop up now and then and we could steer him to some of them when he has a few bucks to operate.

Yeah Cap, I know its a big bummer but maybe it just isn't in the cards rite now. I think all can relate at some point in time just dying to get that certen car and for what ever reasons it didn't pan out. I can relate, I lost $50 down payment on a cool old wagon just to get stiffed. At least you don't have any $ invested on this deal.

It'll happen, patience, work, study, and save.;)

I'd love to help out but cash for gas is what is stopping me from doing anything, I have a cherokee that would do the job at hand and I could most likely round up a dolly to use for a day.

i will help anyone in anyway that i can. kind of a what goes around comes around thing. is the pacer an all mighty 258 powered car? if it is then there are probaly a few parts floating around the storage site from the parts eagles sitting there now.

i hope you guys can work out a deal cause i think it would be an awesome site there with his rambler, your pacer, his spirit, and his 8 eagles all sitting out back. probly be the closest resemblance to an old AMC car lot that i will ever see in my lifetime

Glad you got something figured out. Since were talking about Pacers, while at a car show/cruise in Saturday night in Athens, AL, I ran into a guy who takes pictures at all the shows and in the past he told me his dad worked at AMC. He said, "My dad is meeting me for dinner, stick around." I was actually leaving when he told me that so I stuck around for an hour and a half. We only had a short conversation but he was a friendly gentleman. He worked there from 69-75 and was involved with Pacer R&D, specifically NVH testing. He was telling me how they would go on long drives with stethoscopes and listen to every inch of the car. He then went to Ford where he was a lead engineer in steering systems for Lincolns and later Econolines and F-series trucks. After that he went in to the missile defense industry. That's what brought him to this area since a lot of missile defense design and testing is done at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Unfortunately he had no knowledge of anything to do with the Eagle

Not really. He got a text that his dinner was waiting for him on the table so he cut the conversation short. He talked more about the Econoline steering system for some reason.
