Got my 67 Ford into the garage so I can look at it and figure out where to start. I thought lowering it might be neat, but it's pretty low already. The body is beat up and the interior aint much better, at least it runs good. It's one of them cars that is going to be a "rat rod" because its so dinged up.

Over the past few weeks, I have added a rear sway bar, replaced the 1 1/16" front bar with a 1 1/4" front bar and changed the sway bar and end link bushings to performance pieces. Today, I finished the final step in my suspension/steering plan: I replaced the stock power steering gear with a "quick ratio" steering gear.

It's all back together, but no test drive til tomorrow. Looking forward to more of a "Trans Am" feel!

Finally got the tail gate welded up, smoothed out, and now primed.

Welded the hinges back together. Had to cut them in half because there was no way I was going to be able to unbolt them.

Proceeded with remainder of body work on car. Hoping I can have it ready to paint by next month.

Installed a set of Salt Flat Specials, and am in the process of replacing the carpet, installing a Sport hood, and removing the luggage rack.

check my wagon porn threads for the new wheels and tires but also had to replace upper and lower control arm bushings. we seem to think that they ripped out due to the extreme amount of travel due to the air ride

    hooked up

Today I hooked the Airstream to the wagon, as I had my hitch installed Monday night. She handled it well, dropping 1.25" with the load equalizing hitch/bars attached. Photos to come when I do it with better light. MPJ

Drove the wagon in the rain all day today running errands and stuff. Wipers work perfect, defroster works perfect and had "The Who" on the 8-track all day. Carpet is staying dry but I still need to replace some of the other door seals.
Tomorrow "Rat Hole Customs" sets up at the Portland Roadster Show. We are driving the "Shagg'n Wagon" and the "Surf Rat" up and setting them up IN our T-shirt booth for three days - thru Sunday. Yes, we get to have both wagons in the booth!
So to that end I vacuumed the carpet, removed all the loose ends and cleaned up a bit.

Wish I had another week and I would have put the side trim back on. Oh well...
I'll take pics of any and all cool wagons'npost them on Saturday or Sunday night.

That's one of the biggest battles is taking care of the leaks! Good to see you're staying dry.

I've decided, at least for now.. to turn my '49 Chevy into my daily.. so ordering some parts for that while working on the '58 wagon as well. Have 2 leaks in the front of my car that will get my front carpet nice and soaked. Having trouble hunting down the issue.. believe it's the holes for the wipers. RTVing the snot out of everything. Stay dry!
