I had the "Y"-pipe replaced on the Country Squire a couple of days ago. With it being the original pipe, it was a bit rotted! There were a series of 1/4" to 1" corrosion holes from where the two pipes meet, and from there, back another foot or so. Yeah, the car sounded like crap! Now that I have a new pipe installed, the glasspack sounds like it should now.

Last night, I replaced the DS hi/lo beam and the PS rear marker lamp, so I have all the lights back again. Boring stuff, true, but stuff that needs to be done on a daily driver, especially.

I don't think it's boring, I think it's cool that you can do these things yourself. Every little bit keeps those wheels on the road, right?
    :)

Is he welding the gas tank in this photo? I get the feeling it's a "No."

    Hey, Did he survive that?

(BTW, There's reason to search for wisdom and understanding. Natch.)

Not much to report about the "Surfrat" other than I replaced the voltage regulator and that effectively fixed the periodic flashing ALT light.
Also vacuumed, washed and cleaned up the wagon for "Rust-O-Rama" car show tomorrow.
She is loaded to the gills with t-shirts along with my partner in his '64 Belair... and we pre-paid for our booth space.

This year marks my 3 year anniversary owning and driving that '58 Ford Ranch Wagon.
    Pretty special I think.
Cooler is loaded with beer if any of you decide to drop by.
    :Welcome:

Hey that's great Jairus. You keep moving forward and a clean wagon is a happy wagon at a car event.
    :camera:of the event.
So what's beer have to do with rusty cars and selling T-shirts?;)

I found some "Ford" letters that matched the size and font of the letters that where missing from my tailgate. One of them already had the adhesive on the back, the other 3 letters had studs . I cut the studs off , and used 3M tape. There were still places on the tailgate where the originals were, so I used that has a guide....

That's for sure, those letters had been missing since I got the wagon in 2008, so it feels good to have some on there.

Last weekend I managed to put my rear view mirror back on, got my seat moved back (stuck on passenger side) and took care of a squeaky brake plunger.

I drove the car into town this evening and when I came out of an Italian restaurant from getting take out, one of the workers was looking at my car. He said "it rocked, it was awesome, he had not seen one in years, reminded him of Grease", etc. :) I am glad some people like it anyway.

I sure do get a lot of people looking. Dad said it is because it is so ugly. lol.

I snapped this one coming out of wally world this afternoon... lol. (Just before going to pick up dinner).

Oh yeah - I also waxed my other "new to me" wagon... :)

It's so nice to see that you are getting to enjoy that 72 Chevy! And the Subaru looks great also, nice color on it!

I took the Kingswood Estate to its first "cruise-in" tonight. Everyone loved the car and it had a lot of people looking.

Things I don't like are the "400" badges on the front fenders when the car has a factory "402" engine. People asking me if the 402 was factory and if so, why did it have "400" badges on the front fenders. Good question. Anyone that worked at GM in 1972 want to answer that? LOL.
