I purchased a set of wheel spacers for the back wheels( fronts already have them) Got a set of 1970 z28 rims on her, and needed to offset the wheels just a bit. I also purchased a fuel sending unit tool to take the unit out of the tank.I need to check it to make sure the sludge is not causeing my issues,I actuall hope that it is the sending unit not allowing the nastyness to get to the motor, and the fuel lines are good so i do not have to mess with them. But will not know until I drop the tank ..hopefully soon.

I spent the last couple of days working on my 86 Eagle. It's been neglected the last several months if not longer. The paint was looking a little rough and it had little black mold dots on it. First thing I did was replace the well nuts for the roof rack rails. I need to reinstall the crossbars, but I think I'll leave them off until I need the roof rack for camping. I scrubbed the car by had with a microfiber towel and then used a clay bar. After that I rubbed it with heavy duty rubbing compound and finished off with carnuba wax.It looks pretty darn good for 28 year old paint, but there are several chips and scratches. One day it will get a repaint. Since I can only use my right hand because of recovering from shoulder surgery, my right arm is sore as heck. I also decided to paint my door handles. I have the black import replacements that I installed a couple years ago or so. The paint was totally wore off. I used Duplicolor black trim paint.

Worked on repairing damage to the passenger side fender. It must have taken a decent shot, and was poorly repaired. I had to remove the front reinforcement to hammer it out, weld a couple of small cracks in the metal, and then reweld the support back in place. Next up will be some quality time with a grinder and then some body putty to make it look all nice.

I got the wagon registered and insured today... she is ready to roll. I guess I will try to venture out for the first time in her this weekend. Hopefully she will not leave me on the side of the road somewhere. She has not been on the road in years (other than the drive to the shop) and the 1/2 mile drive back home. I plan on taking it Saturday to get a new exhaust system.

Put the matching bench seat to the interior back in that came with the car in '81. It was already an old interior but I like it. suits the '60's theme of the car. Had it tucked away in the shop attic.

Looks right at home in there. Even if it's old, if it all looks the same it gives the car a "complete" look. Either way, I dig it.

I kind of had a rats nest by the starter solenoid and also have seen where a few other Eagle owners have had issues with rust around the battery, so I decided to tackle them both at the same time.

I had a bunch of stuff going to the battery post on the starter solenoid, plus I installed a MSD box in place of the ICM a few years back and did a sloppy job because I was in a hurry.

I removed the battery and found some rust, but luckily it was mostly surface rust.

I wire brushed and sanded the rust, then coated it with Permatex Rust Treatment. It requires 24 hrs before top coat. I sprayed it with some Duplicolor white paint the next day and started putting it back together.

Since I have a Jeep starter that has the solenoid on the starter, I decided to replace the fender mounted solenoid with a relay. I installed a battery distribution block I removed from a Cadillac for all the wires that used to go to the solenoid. I used a relay bracket I got off of a GM car in the junkyard along with the relays. Relays are for the starter, low beams, high beams, fog lights and horn. I also installed a 4 note Cadillac horn that I also picked up from the junkyard. The wiring isn't quite as neat as I would have liked but it's better than it was, before. I left some of the wires long, since I plan on installing a fuse box which will have relays when I do the fuel injection swap some day. I might make a cover to hide the wires if they bug me.

If he is anything like me, it could get ugly. I'm a horrible passenger.
