My son switched two of our vehicles from Edelbrocks to Holleys. Fuel mileage seemed to go up.
But thinking causes dizziness, confusion, and headaches. Stop thinking and start playing.

Denny, Thanks for the advice! I really need to play more. That is the biggest reason that I purchased the wagon. Cheers!-Mark :29:

Mark, sometimes I've come in from the garage more upset than when I went out. But so far have not attacked a car and beat it with a hammer!
Yes, I've thought about it. But then thought of all the work to repair it before getting back to whatever else was broke!;)

That is a beautiful Monte Carlo Swanny! I love the '73 models.

Here are both of your cars on an old Lets Make a Deal... lol.

Go to 4:25 on this link... after you see the '73 Caprice convertible, it shows a '73 Caprice Estate wagon given away, then directly after, a '73 Monte Carlo, then a '73 Vega GT wagon... they give away another Monte Carlo (Monte Carlo Landau) at 5:45... at 1:40, it shows a white '72 Kingswood Estate wagon...

It also causes your blood pressure to go up, and the final cost of fixing it aswell, 'cause you rarely find what's wrong by thinking. Usually you just gotta look, car will tell you if you know what's wrong.

I took a rubber mallet to my hood once before we doused the hood latch with lithium grease 'cause it wouldn't open. It's already got a dent the shape of some hoodlums rear end in the middle of the hood where someone sat on the car, so I don't care about a mallet dent at this point. Sometimes ya gotta use the soviet persuasion techniques on old cars. :D

    Update 9/2/13
Got it all on. Will pick up some R12 (50 miles away) and charge it up this week. Here are a couple of photos if I can make them work. Also took the B&M Mega shifter out of the car and installed the column shift lever. Now I have to replace the perfectly good carpet set due to a 4" by 6" hole cut out of the carpeting when the PO installed the floor shift.

That's a good idea and one I thought I could use as I actually have a couple of inexpensive ones that I thought might work. They don't fit well to the hump (I could trim them to fit) but the cup holder sections that have to be closest to the seat don't have the necessary spread in the bottom for the 2 1/8 " on center 5/16" holes already drilled in the floor that I wanted to use to mount it. The B&M shifter was mounted with four 5/16" bolts and there was about a 3/4" hole for the cable. I just sold the shifter for $100 so the carpet will only cost me $50. It's a nice car so what's another $50.

I had hoped to get a chance to start the engine today, but delay after delay prevented any chance of that from happening.

On the bright side, I have circumvented several potential pitfalls, almost wrapped up assembly of the engine, and did get to spend almost the entire day in the garage. And that's with tomorrow being the first day of school for my twin 5-year-olds, and our oldest returning to advance to the fourth grade. Not to mention tomorrow is my 14th wedding anniversary.

Thank you to my wonderful wife!

Haven't done anything lately, but I've decided that instead of yanking the trans out of my parts car and paying someone to put it in, I'm just gonna use a friends shop to swap over the whole engine and trans (307, 700R4) from my 1989 Olds Custom Cruiser (parts) into my 1986 Olds Custom Cruiser (Daily / project). Sure mine was rebuilt 100k odd miles ago, but this one has about 130k original miles, so it should be fine. Last me until I can afford a 350 crate or find something else to donate into it.
