That reminds me of a Volvo commercial in the '90s, of a 740 wagon racing, in this same style.

Yup - Dodge Lancer. Dodge's version of the Plymouth Valiant. No 'compact' Lancer in 1960, the first year of the Valiant, and the Lancer was only sold in '61 and '62. For '63, it was all-new, and became the Dodge Dart. The Darts got a bit longer wheelbase than the Valiants, except for the wagons.

I totally miss that version of Pizza Hut. When pizzas actually had a nice cover of sauce, cheese and toppings. Only Papa Murphy's has theirs better than what Pizza Hut used to be, and you still have to cook it yourself.

This photo was taken in Lethbridge, Alberta, in about 1960 at the El Rancho Motor Hotel. The unique tow vehicle and 5th wheel travel trailer were owned by a famous American singer and actor (rumor has it Bing Crosby) who came up with friends for many years in the fall to hunt for pheasant in the area. The Dominion grocery store across the street was eventually replaced with a Sandman Hotel and I'm unaware if it's still there. The El Rancho Motor Hotel is now the Coast Lethbridge Hotel. Correction on ownership of this unique camping unit - It was not Bing Crosby although he may have been on this trip with the owner. See the following https://bangshift.com/general-news/...8-reo-curtiss-aerocar-tandem-super-cool-want/

That auction by the Petersen Museum was 5+ years ago now. I'm curious as to what's happening with the rig now......... I do know there is a RV museum, I believe somewhere back in the Midwest, where a lot of RV's are manufactured. This would be a fantastic piece for it.
    .............................................................................
EDIT #1: Found some more info on it. It sold for $137,000 at the Petersen auction. Buyer got it running, and apparently displayed it at some vehicle meet in Hershey, PA in 2018. Video taken there by some guy, embedded in this post:

    ................................................................................................
EDIT #2: And, of course, Fairfield did a die cast of it...

Not quite street scenes but close. The '57 Safari was at the Fifty 567 Club gathering in Calgary in I believe Wagons 1982.jpg 1982 along with mine and a couple of others. Mine was still in primer and butt ugly. This one was from northern BC, a real beauty, he'd found it years earlier on a lot in Sandpoint, ID while on a trip and purchased it and restored it. This gathering was the only time I saw this one but it was beautiful.
The Transcontinental was in a wrecking yard in Missoula, MT about the same time. We were at an automotive swap meet there and then checked out the fellows wrecking yard for parts. If I remember correctly he had a number of 567's, primarily Chevrolet. I should have purchased this wagon but I already had too many projects on the go.
You will spy a '57 chev wagon in the background of the wrecking yard photo. I remember thinking I was in seventh heaven when we arrived there.
