    It sure had no business towing that heavy trailer behind it.

    I did my AIT at Ft. Ord. One night during our week long bivouac we had to spend the night in foxholes along a ridgeline. I snuck over the hill to find that Laguna Seca racetrack was on the other side. I purloined a bale of straw and lined my foxhole with it. It was winter and it rained during the night. I rigged my poncho over my foxhole and slept as warm as a bug in a rug. The next morning everyone in the company was wet and miserable and couldn't figure out why I wasn't. Having grown up in the woods, I always had the habit of making a secure shelter if I had to spend the night. Lots of city boys didn't make it back from Viet Nam because they lacked the skills one acquires in the woods.
