Ford most likely didn't worry about a one-off that 'borrowed' one of their trademarked names. Now if it went into any kind of actual production.......
The 'Futura' name was used by Ford beginning with the 1961.5 Falcon Futura sport coupe. Name was retired after the last 1970 Falcon rolled off the line. It was brought back for the debut of the Fairmont Futura sport coupe in the 1979 model year.

I believe Fords first use of the Futura name was actually the mid 50's show car that was later bought by George Barris and Modified into TV's Bat Mobile

Yes. The "Futura" name did start with the Lincoln, but since it was not a production car, they didn't use the name for such until the Falcons. But yeah, that's where Barris got the basis for the Batmobile. Also, the Futura was used in a Glenn Ford movie, but I'd have to ask my brother which movie it was.

Well I have just a little history with the Bat Mobile in that Picture, I know the former owner who Built it, and I actually took my Wife down so she could get a surprise ride in it on her Birthday back in 2007 (hard to believe it was 9 years ago) That car is actually based on a 1975 Catalina Safari, and has all the original running gear in it. Chris the Builder sold it Several years ago to Comedian Jeff Dunham and used the proceeds to buy the Futura Replica in that Picture. He bought it as a Completed car then the new owner of his Bat Mobile "just had to have the Futura also" so after just a short time owning it he sold it to him also. He is now starting to Build a Futura Replica, he just recently bought an unused Fiberglass body, one of about 10 ever made. If it is 1/2 as good as the Bat Mobile he made it should be outstanding. He already bought a Lincoln MKII Parts car to use as the chassis. The same as the original Futura. The Pic's below are from our visit in 2008 with out old 78 Impala Wagon. My wife is getting her Birthday ride. Then Both of us sitting in the Bat Mobile

I saw the Barris Batmobile at the 1973 Seattle Autorama, when I was 8. Of course, you were kept a thousand feet away....
