A little info I found out today from a co-worker who is a mopar guy and knew of the car claim it is a Hemi car and they do have the engine and it is not locked up. I was also told the car was never titled. They are flying someone in to have the car documented. They also claim there is 2 missing cars from the registry of these and this could possibly be one. This big wig they are flying in will be able to tell them.

I didn't get to look at the speedo but did see the column shift indicator was marked
P-R-1-2-3 like a reverse valve body transmission.

As far as what the car is, it is just speculation and here say at this point but it is interesting and hope to find out more later. If nothing else it is making my job fun trying to find out info on this car they are being secretive about! :D

That is the difference in "car guys" and someone that just goes there for a job. The 2 or 3 of us that are into cars are interested in the history and stuff on the car. Most at work just think it is a old rusty car that needs to be junked.

Yes most people feel that way. Sadly a lot of nice old cars end up in the crusher because people buy land or a home with an old car they don't want.

I often wonder what hapened to all the old rods and customs we saw at cruise ins and car shows just before Katrina. Down near what was a brand new Wal-Mart we went to several car shows at small shopping centers and saw many in garages.

True. Did you catch the buzz a few years ago regarding a very derelict 1963 Tempest that sold on eBay? A guy bought a house and discovered this hulk taking up space in the garage. He was going to just have it hauled out for scrap when a friend suggested he put it on eBay. It was listed for like $500 and no reserve. Once people in the know saw some things in the photos that made them sit up and do a double take, bidding went wild. When the dust cleared, it sold for $226,521!

Turns out it was a really rare, factory built Super Duty race car with a history. Now fully restored it sold at the Mecum auction a couple weeks ago for $335,500.

    Super (looks like) Duty
