How ironic. The engine began talking to you at a bank drive up window! Trade for a newer vehicle of any kind and you will be driving up to that window for years to come. Grab that used low milage engine and find someone trustworthy to swap. You'll only have a few month's payments tied up in it and you already know what your wagon is. -------About the rust bucket truck. Our friend lives in NY summers and brings NY rustbuckets to Florida to sell winters. Most have had frames that fall out or parts that are totally rusted. NY vehicles should be outlawed in Florida!:rofl2:

Heard a good rust story today... speaking of trucks and rust... (may be better as a separate thread...) The gal who answers the phone at
my Nissan shop said here dad bought a Jeep Cherokee Pick-up, new, back in the early 80's.(I'm pretty sure she meant Comanche).
He put over 400K on the 6-banger before rust consumed the oil pan which fell off and caused the whole engine to let go for good.
That's a new one on me... Her brother dropped a new mill in and still drives it. Who ever it was that once told me those things were crap,
I believe that person was full of the stuff...

It actually talks to me when its cold and makes me cringe with all the taps, clanks and rattles. Gotta crank the radio when she warms up :rofl2: Just the other day I noticed it was doing it warm now too. We have a love/hate relationship right now with her engine noises.. front and rear warped shimmy shaking brakes.. failed catalyst manifold.. tired clutch.. squeeky wiper motor.. weak fuel pump.. rusty engine cradle.. bad control arm.. lack of guts up hill and WOT smoke screen.. shes being quite

Think I'll do the engine swap and throw some money into her for now. I figure that if I trade come spring I can always sell to recover the engine swap at least. Plus I do use it as my work car and it earns me my living.

The eventual goal is to get out of the truck. It sits most of the time. Ideally I would just sell it outright but owe too much. Trading is "easier". I actually got the Galaxie to fill its spot as the big multipurpose vehicle and to satisfy my need to "tinker"

I have a 2005 scion XB wagon that is driven daily. Made by Toyota, and at 6'3" I have 5 inches of headroom. Gets 30MPG combined and has been a great little car. Lots of room in the back, and it has an excellent stereo.
