Have to run premium fuel in my Sport Wagon. Goes for $2.75/US Gallon. Ethanol is added here in New Jersey! Great for seals and carbs!
I kid you not, I paid $1.77 per US gallon last evening. London, Ohio is having a gas war (when did you last hear THAT term??). They all are back up to over $2.00 per gallon now, but it was worth it for me to drive a couple of miles out of my way to fill up. I had to fill up the diesel Excursion today and it was at $2.49 per gallon. Still not too bad.
So, the rest of us don't? I bust my ass 40 hours a week with a very good job and am in the same boat you are in. What pay raise? Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, 'cuz you're not.
$4.29 a gallon premium in San Diego-they really stick it to us here at the end of the line;up the road in Orange County gas is about $.40 less!! Difference to Europe , at least Germany that I know of, is there taxes are about 52% of the gas price, while here in US we have 18% Federal tax and some local ones! Think about it-over 50% taxes on gas!!! Oh, and I forgot , try 21% VAT.
Gasoline taxes vary widely by state with California being among the highest at just over 60 cents per gallon. The highest is Pennsylvania at 70 cents per gallon. The lowest taxes are in the southern states and average around 35 cents per gallon.
