That looks great Jack! Did you have that many hands putting your bumper on?

just me and the floor jack. Blessed to get the California bumpers in restorable condition. I was driving the wagon thru Florissant during Octoberfest. A young family noticed and gave the thumbs up. I saw them later and stopped to talk and let them take pictures. The guys dad had a 58 biscayne but never got the project finished. The father passed on Christmas Day last year. I had told the guy to stop by if the wagon was out in our driveway.
He said he had extra parts so I asked about the hood bar and some other pieces. He sent back pictures of the bumpers he didn’t even know he had. Biscayne is already in the body shop getting started should be on the road in June/July.
Petra and Stray Cat were no help at all!

I made it home. Man, so many things to deal with, and the last item, this morning, I left my walking cane upstate. Nine hours one-way, if I want to go get it.

But the Burb performed quite well. Except for a possible power draw pulling the battery down, oil, trans fluid, coolant and brake fluid all pretty much stayed where they belonged.

Dang Andrew. Didn't realize you were back in the Evergreen state until it was too late.
Glad to hear you made it back to Texas safe and sound.

As it always happens, I get too busy, and yeah, I drove right through your neck of the woods. But maybe someday, I can get time to visit when I'm up there.

Lucked out!! I went into town to do some errands and was going to stop at the local gas station for a plate lunch. As I turned in, I lost my power steering. Thought maybe had a flat. Muscled it into a parking spot...no flat...so I checked under the hood. Idler pulley had locked up and smoked the serpentine belt. I was only 2 miles from home. Got it going fast enough that ram air kept it from overheating. Muscled it into the driveway. Have to wait for the wife to get home to drive back into town for a belt. I had a spare idler pulley in my tool box. OH, and it's pouring rain all day so I have to wait until tomorrow to fix it.

I had the pressure line on an '81 Fairmont blow out, about four or five miles from home. Getting that car to drive the streets of Everett, just to get home, reminded me of why it's called 'Armstrong Steering.'
