Told ya a new radiator is not terribly expensive. Best to buy new than chance another used replacement. Just wait and save up.
By the way, 2-3 minutes drive is only a short WALK. What better way for Zoe to keep her girlish figure?
    Don't tell her where I live!:slap:

I lost only a hair over a pint -----------Would that be a purple hair? :rofl2:

Okay Xav here goes my Napa shpeel again...we sell a repair kit just for plastic radiator tanks. It's a permenant repair and retails for $17.99 part no. 765-1544 kind of expensive but is pretty much a absolute fix.

I was gonna say grind it out and use 2 ton epoxy. But the Napa stuff would be the real deal. That's what I'd do.

At least you know your radiator doesn't leak anywhere else. With a used radiator you never know, you might be worse off. A surface covered with old dried coolant seems to corrode a lot faster than one always immersed in coolant.

Might wanna dig around on ebay too. Never know what you might find. I got a new in box radiator for one of my cars $25 shipped. I got a new power steering pump for something like $8, would have been $70 at the stores. I got a low mileage Jasper rebuilt engine for $50 and I picked it up myself so shipping was hardly anything. That's the one I put in my 6000 wagon in 2005 and it still runs good.

Thanks Dewey and every one. Is that specifically for a 2.4L L4 EFI Mitsubishi engine with automatic transaxle transmission (thanks Krash (y) )? I only ask because I cant load the link on my phone. Zoe and I are leaning towards the repair kit. It is also time for an oil change. So with the kit and the oil change we are looking at $40. Hey, maybe I should do an engine swap. I got a strong looking tree in my front yard. :rofl2:

Yep, do the engine swap. I'll second this one. You can find it on a mountain top in Tennesse.

    Put this in it...

[IMG]Of course, you're still gonna need that new Kia radiator to cool it!:bouncy:

Not sure if you are referring to the ebay link I posted or not. If you are I have no idea. However, rockauto.com lists the same part numbers for the 4 cylinder and v6. I would also assume that it has the trans cooler. For $65 and free shipping you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal on a new rad.

$65????? No way would I try a crappy patch job for the difference. Buy the new radiator Xavier, even if you have to hold off on the oil change and lunch for the next month!

Radiators are an odd piece of equipment, why on earth someone would make them out of aluminum and plastic "bonded" together is beyond me. Well okay the reason is aftermarket parts and returning to the dealer when this engineering fails. Old school cars have steel radiators and they last and last and can be flushed and will keep on going...Where's the fun in that? Auto makers do this on purpose, using parts and major components that are destined to fail at some point so future repairs for car dealerships are pre engineered as it were...kinda sad.

well my local NAPA seems to be run by people from deliverance. They dont carry the repair kit! And they dont like my kind in there. Although I know I shocked one of them because of how much I actually know about cars, particularly my own. Kevin I was referring to the link. So now Im undecided as to which direction I will take with the radiator. The kit is cheaper (probably ordering online somehow) but a new rad would be better...
