I had a radiator leak and pepper was suggested. It worked great. However, I went to spray my belts and the plastic on top of the radiator cracked. Pepper wont work here. What would be my best course of action for the least amount of $$$? And no Im not using duct tape. :rofl2: Thanks in advance. -X

Well, dang it, if ya ain't gonna use duct tape you're gonna have to git nuther radiator. Check around. They aren't as expensive as the old style kind.
Then go to plan "B", sell it!:slap:
    The Kia, not the radiator!

Yes sir. Ya might try cleaning the area, maybe file a groove along the crack, and JB weld it. Might work a day or two, or more!
    Then sell it! :cry:Fast!:yahoo:

:biglaugh:  :biglaugh: Nope, a new radiator costs as much as I was afraid of... More than I can afford for now. Luckily, it doesnt lose much fluid. It is a pressure crack and seems to only leak when it gets hot enough. No over heating yet... Yet being the operative word. I'm toying with the notion of trying my luck with a junkyard KIA radiator... Not sure yet and I won't know more until tomorrow. I'm guessing that either I have a reliable cooling system even when the is air and a leak in it or my engine doesnt get that hot...

X- Just make sure you match the used radiator to yours. If you have an auto trans, the used rad. must also be from an auto trans car (trans cooler in bottom of radiator)

X...do NOT let that engine run hot. You don't want a cracked head or worse in addition to the other problems. :)

An old friend gave us a 95 monte carlo back in 09. It had a cracked water pump jacket... I would never let this car, or any, overheat. It, truthfully, scares the hell out of me. Anyways, we found a radiator for our car, meeting all specifications on rockauto for $90 all told. We might have to wait till Zs next payday to get it. Fortunatly for us Z only works 2 to 3 minutes drive away. Not long enough to even bring the engine to running temp. And it is a pressure crack. I lost only a hair over a pint once the car got warmed up after driving for awhile.

Search for a rockauto discount code online and you should be able to get another 5% off the price of the radiator.
