I sold my Country Squire back around '98, to a nice guy that had a auto sales business in California called Wagons West. He flew out, and drove the wagon back. I remember thinking he was bold to just head out in a vehicle he knew nothing about, but he had no problems. It was a great wagon. I don't have a single picture of it either. Bummer. pipedream, I couldn't tell what color your CS is...is it a color called Burnt Amber Metallic - Code V? In the pics, it looks both brownish, and reddish - primer maybe? Mine had the Saddle Decor Group...a light brown with embossed "tooled saddle leather" look vinyl strips on the seats. The interior was in amazingly good condition...almost like new. The doors just had vent window cranks, arm rests and door handles, and nice deluxe trim. The AM 8-Track had speakers in the doors, and the cargo area. The Safety Convenience Control Panel contained all power window switches, a "Rolling Lock" power door lock system...all doors locked automatically at 8 mph. Door Ajar Light, Seat Belt Reminder Light, Low Fuel Warning Light, and I think a Brake Light or a Hazard Light...can't remember which. It originally had a 428, but that was long gone by the time I got it, and a 390 was in place, but it still had the original 428 badges on the front fenders. It had the dual facing rear seats in back. It was an original Dallas car, from Miracle Ford. The metal badge was on the tailgate. If yours was originally a 428, it should have a Q code in the VIN. I know it is a long shot...Ford obviously built more that one totally loaded Country Squire in 1967, but I will indulge my fantasy of finding it again. David
David, that is some awesome info. From what I was told by the previous owner, his dad was the second owner. He bought it from the dealership. It was a showroom/dealer car. I had no idea about the rolling lock. That is awesome! It is the burnt red color with a saddle color front end.
I'm intrigued.... So are we talking about a floor console here? As ar as I knew, the big Fords from that year had the electric window switches on the doors..... Anybody got pics on this? So is it your old car, David? And a howdy / hello to you PipeDreams, from very sunny Oregon...... Marshall
Found it! After a bit more digging, found a picture (drawing) from a 'brochure' page - this is the '67 big Ford dash.... the S.C.C.P is underneath the dash. My question though....does it actually control the windows, or locks only? Dang, getting big red 'X'. Here's the linky... http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2_itemId=128865
This shows the Convenience Control Panel with the power door lock button, but not the power window switches. Power windows could be ordered without the CCP option, and the switches would be on the doors like normal, but if the both options were were ordered, the PW switches were combined in the console, and the front doors just had the little vent window cranks only. CCP plus power windows has to be a pretty rare option for any '67 Ford, but for a wagon, I would think, SUPER RARE! How many can be left? A one-year-only option package! .....FORD has a better idea! The Rolling Lock power door lock system was offered only for '67, and was not well received, because Ford changed the inside door handle override for unlocking the doors...everytime you went anywhere, you had to hit the button or reach around and lift the manual button on the top of the door. Hassle! The 8 mph auto-switch was disabled on most cars. Also shown, the AM 8-Track is wonderfully integrated into the dash design, but the A/C vents are placed very low. David
Dejavu, pipedreams! Love your loaded Country Squire! Seeing that dash sure brings back memories! It's most definitely not the one I used to own...someday, maybe it will show up! Fun pics...more! more! more! David
