Nice wagon! It is rare to find a Grand Marquis wagon without the wood on it. Looks like it has alot of potential.

I'm not sure about the full-sized Grand Marquis wagons, but the Fox Marquis wagons got a Villager nameplate if they were woodies.

Lol thanks Ted; since the picture I have fixed the exhaust lolz. I really want to put wood paneling on it though... I grew up with the wood I kind of think it's plain without it. The wood gave it like a two-tone job. I was thinking if I ever get the molding I would switch it up and try painting fake carbon fiber instead of wood for a more modern look. I should show you a pic of the driver's side it has some issues...lol

Darn. I finally got around to comparing the dinoc on the moldings and they're not the same pattern at all. Bummer.

wow....MANY people want to take the wood OFF their wagon.:yup: I've never heard of anyone wanting to ADD the wood trim. The car is quite rare being a wood delete Grand Marquis and I think they look great without the wood. Not my car, though. But....putting on the trim and wood is no easy task. Although, easier than removing it all, for sure. I would keep the car awhile and fix everything as needed, including whatever the issues are on the driver's side, and then see if you feel the same about adding the wood trim. That's a nice looking car for the money you have in it, Bowse, and keep in mind, you don't see many wood delete 89 Grand Marquis. I think it's a slick looking wagon as is. At least from this side.[IMG]

    bowser,

since the car is silver... instead of carbon fiber..which is either $$$ for the real thing or looks crappy with fake. how about instead of wood....diamond plate!!! it would pop with the silver, look very masculine and as a side bonus would be damn near impossible to get parking lot dings!

Lol no diamond plate I don't like that stuff it's too gaudy for me. I like having some chrome accents like the ones already on it around the windows the bumpers etc. I was thinking maybe just do it flat black lol. But getting a roll of carbon fiber from a aircraft catalog if I remember wasn't too expensive but it will be a learning experience so it might turn out expensive. I watched a guy paint carbon fiber on his car and it looked real it was amazing.

That's not Di-Noc. It's a beige flat paint base, then a photofilm with graining, then two coats of urethane clearcoat. Easy enough to do yourself. Krylon beige, oil woodstain (Exterior MinWax is best), and Rustoleum clearcoat -satin. Cleaning is the tough part. I used paintsripper and it worked really well. Figure on 2 or 3 days from removal to reinstallation.
