Aw Snoot, It's A/C man. Missing are the canvas water bagz hangin' from the front bumper for the re-supplyThe only A/C older then that waz ah 25lb block of dry ice sittin' in front of the floor vent L.A. to Baker and re-load again for the second leg to Vegas. You have no idea how pricy that second 25lb block waz in June and July
Thanks for all of the props guys. The Corvair Front Suspension has the right track width for the Rambler, it unbolts from the Corvair and it is way cheaper than buying a Mustang II front clip. I just had to cut down a set of 1953 Chevy front springs. The old A/C unit is a Swamp Cooler and here is a pic of it. See Ya! Randy
As promised, here are pics of my new 1936 Dodge Westchester Suburban (Woodie Wagon) that I picked up in Arizona. One of only four known to exist. She is now home safe & sound in my garage. It's been a long road, I have spent the last seven years looking for the right late 30's Mopar Woodie Wagon to purchase. Here she is: See Ya! Randy
Those wagons are absolutely awesome.....welcome to the site! When I first saw the "cooler" hanging on the window, I was wondering how effective they were compared to modern AC systems? I've seen them in pictures before but never heard how well they worked. Can you post any interior pics? Thanks.
Nice looking wagons!! Where abouts in Arizona did you find that Dodge? Cause I remember seeing some woody wagons in a vacant dealership show room windows here in Tucson.
That '36 is amazing; what a find; best of luck with it and enjoy. So that cansiter thing is air conditioning? I don't think I've seen one of those before. That little Nash must've been loaded if it had ac.
Well..............just, ! That is a forever keeper! What an absolute beauty! My dad had a 36 Dodge but not a wagon. Your wagon is a once in a lifetime score!
Wow Guys, thanks again for all of the props. I purchased the Woodie in Tuboc AZ, it is just north of Nogales near the Mexican Border. Yes, the Rambler is fully loaded with every bell and whistle available in 1955. That’s one of the reasons I was attracted to it in the first place. Ramblers where a super cheap car for the time, but because mine is a “Hudson” Rambler it is over the top, fully loaded like a Cadillac. I figured that the 1955 Airstream Travel Trailer would be the ultimate accessory for the 1955 Hudson Rambler Wagon. The old swap coolers didn’t work to well, but they where better than nothing in their day. Mine is on just for looks to complete the fully loaded package. Yes, the Woodie is a keeper, I have spent seven years looking for the right one to add to my collection. I now have a trifecta (if that is a word?) of late 30’s Dodge ½ ton chassis rigs: 1936 Dodge, Woodie Wagon, 1937 Dodge, Pick-Up, 1938 Dodge, Humpback Panel See Ya! Randy
Randy you know they only made about 500 of those woodies .... so dont break it!! LOL Your collection is legend in this side of the world, welcome! So Can I expect to see that wagon on the wharf at Santa Cruz next year?
Great auto's, how does that Rambler pull that Airstream and how far do you usually tow it? Again nice stuff!!
daaaang Randy !!!! that is one fine collection brotha the rambler...strangely enuff..is my fave nuttin left to say but.....and im a lil green
