High 70's eh? That's speeding levels up here. Enjoy it Steve, you'll be broiled soon enough.

Don't know about our temps yet. Nobody has the balls to forecast the Spring or Summer seasons. All we know is that we're running about 10C* cooler than normal (10F cooler). Could be Spring until Fall.:slap:

That's what you had last year. About 1 week of actual summer. It's a global warming thing....:biglaugh:According to your paper you folks are slacking off on recycling. It must be your fault.

Worse than that. Since the commodities market took a dive (scrap paper, copper, glass, etc.) the private companies that pick up the recycled stuff from homes, are dumping it or burning it!

They've got a new term for explaining our cold weather, seriously. Arctic Oscillations. Since El Nino can't impose its barometric pressure requirements to load us up with warm humid air, from the Wet Coast, the North is pushing the cold air down. What they fail to explain though, is how the freakin' North gets its cold air!!! Especially if its warm enough to melt icebergs made of salt water.

Yes, there is climate change. Yes the air we breathe is sickly, but Global Warming seems to be hiding in the deserts of the planet.

How much coverage have you had about the huge floods in Central and Southern Mexico? None up here. A major NAFTA trading partner, and our media don't even have a whisper about the 1,000's of homes and businesses destroyed or the 100's of deaths. We know, because we scan the news sites down there.

So if our media, which has the 300 news screen bling behind the evening newsrooms, just like yours do, and in our case, a commercial relationship with the UK's BBC getting international newsfeeds, is ignoring the opposite heat up, elsewhere, making a mockery of Global Warming in Northern America, do we just believe the spinners or do we clean up our act.

My big question in all of the 'Energy-saving' programs for Green Energy means less emissions, is what is the projected population and industry growth over the next 50 or 100 years in our own countries. That means that the current targets are useless, and... they're targetting the wrong people. Business (buildings and high-tech power growth) (13%), Farming (24%), Forestry and general industry (26%). Homes and cars (15%) contributors. Ah! The golden geese can crap where they want. The taxpayer pays for it.:banghead3:

Boy did we hi-jack this thread totally.

Here we have mandatory trash collection and recycling. We pay $30.52 a month for the privalage of giving our non-CRV recyclables to the trash collector. Then they truck it 50 miles to Tehachapi, Ca. for processing and sorting. Last nite a company presented a plan to build a processing plant locally for $6 million to turn the paper, plastics etc. in to diesel fuel. Now realize that we put all recyclable material in to one container. Steel, aluminum, plastic, rubber, paper, cardboard, glass etc. Apparently there are plenty of private investors. I can only imagine what that diesel fuel will cost and how much waste will be left over. It ought to smell good too.:banghead3:

Tell them about this instead! With more plastic bags, they get more octane rating, AND the other chemicals pay better than the fuel! Plus the rest of the solids waste (non metalic/mineral) is used for roads (asphalt has doubled to $800 per ton because of tarsands oil), etc.

Ethanol production is peanuts in comparison, by wealth generated.
