Hi Everyone! I'm Darrell in Calgary. I've been shopping for a wagon for a while and finally landed a 1968 Country Squire that was parked in a field a couple of months ago. The good news was that the rust was quite minimal on the car (only in the rear lower quarters and doglegs) and the interior was near mint. The bad is that, while in the field, a couple (thousand) mice decided to make their home in it. Once i fix-up the current deficiencies (carb work, fuel gauge, water pump, oil leaks), I will move toward some suspension upgrades along with bigger/better wheels/tires. Looking forward to virtual 'bench racing' with you on the forum. Will post more pix and progress in the Garage shortly! Cheers, D
Welcome Darrell! This is a great place to get information and parts and all kinds of different discussions. Really love to see pictures of the wagon! Hope you enjoy your stay!...Longroofs Rule!
Welcome Darrel! A friend and I pulled a 67' corvette out of a basement once. Mice, cats, rats and bats, a complete rodent utopia all living in and around this car. One particular food storage place for some of these critters was inside the intake. I had to pull it off and was shaking dog food out for a good 1/2hour. Dont forget to look in there and when you do,take pictures for us!!!
Welcome Darrel and your thousands of little friends. Good luck on the eviction. Wear gloves and face protection. I've heard rodent do do is dangerous.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone Here's some pix of the rodents' handy work. I had to remove and disassemble the front seat and there was a large nest in the seat back. Unfortunately it still stinks even after unloading a couple of containers of Fbreeze and Lysol in it. I was thinking about a buckets/console swap. May be something I consider sooner than later.
