Well the first bike don't have an engine and Dollie says she is not riding in the basket. I'd kiil myself with the second one.I think me , 1tireman, and Tedy need to stick to his style of trike. But we need to add training wheels.
Sorry to hear of your problems EF, hope everything works out ok. It was like deja vue reading your bike history almost. After riding street bikes for 20 yrs, I got a Honda XR400R dirt bike at age 42 also, lol. Rode it a good bit for about 4 yrs, bruised some ribs once, but that was the extent of any injuries on it. I'm hoping to get it back out some this summer after being off of it over 10 yrs. Its a lot of fun on the woods trails.
Sorry, I forgot about you. You have a big yard by the sounds of things AND I remember you mentioning about getting a ride on lawn mower some where but the kids looked at you like you were from another planet because it sounded like work. Well now you can get even with the kids, mow your own lawn and watch the sad eyes as the kids will want to mow the lawn...... but you won't get off.
What if you stayed off the trails and on the street? I know i'm too old for jumping and banging around of road.
The streets are more dangerous than the back woods. At least the bears and the deer don't text. As for that John Deere mower swap to a BBC and maybe 1tire might want it.
I grew up in the Fort Lauderdale area. Most of our riding areas were old cow pastures which were mostly sugar sand. When I started riding again in TN, the woods, hills, roots, rocks and logs were completely foreign to me, It was a big learning curve. Going over logs at a 45 degree angle have caused 2 of my major injuries. When I started riding again, I thought it would be hard to find people in my age group to ride with. Boy was I wrong. Many of the guys I've met are older and much faster. One guy is 73 and out rides most of the youngsters. The street is not gonna happen. It's far more dangerous. With drivers who don't know how to drive properly, combined with too many electronic distractions and almost silent interiors, makes for a very dangerous situation.
I got to admit, I'm almost paranoid about riding on the streets anymore, even here in Coweta County. I don't think I could ride the interstates nearer Atlanta anymore.
These days, it isn't even people texting that are the main worry. Most android phone will do the typing for you. Just speak, and text is done. No the worry now is the electronics of the cars themselves! When the driver has to take eyes off the wheel to adjust the speaker volume or change the direction or temperature of air flow, there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with the engineering of the new vehicles. Add blind spots that could hide Texas, and the new cars are quite literally crashes waiting to happen.
My Dodge truck is 10 years old and I still can't get used to the blind "A" pillars . You could hide a Dodge truck behind those.....with a Harely behind it.
Contrary to most vehicle nuts, I've never been all that excited about motorcycles. Probably rode one a total of maybe 2-3 miles, and they were little moped jobs, with the exception of my brother's Honda 500, which I couldn't shift out of 1st. Wife and I talked about doing some off-roading in the dunes we have out south of Florence (70 miles away), but it would be with quads..... I'll be renting, rather than buying.
I'm almost to the point where I want to unload mine until I move to a lower populated area, around where I live there are too many people texting or reading while they should be driving and almost being hit a few times has me thinking eventually my number is going to come to the front of the line!
