I had completely forgotten about rrbnut's wagon being on Jay Leno's garage.

    I agree 100%
As Jaunty said "it's passed inspection? What inspection?"
I know it is a somewhat common practice to blur out our obscure the license plate of a vehicle being posted for sale online, but in this case it only adds to the scam detector.

car is a scam, attempted to sell over multiple years.nIt's interesting that the scam artist would choose this car to coax people with.

Yeppers - we've seen this exact 454 wagon with the same backgrounds before. It's been on the Santa Fe craiglist. I live 30 mins south of Santa Fe - it sure as F* doesn't look like that in the backgrounds.

Scam artiste. I'm sure he got some one's $$$ with this. It does look like a nice wagon.

My cousin, about 5 miles away, has a 2002 Mercedes-Benz C240 on her property that doesn't run. It's 'owned' by a friend of her grand daughter. They want to sell it ($750), so I helped them by posting ads on FB Marketplace and Craig's List. They got a quick response from a guy who agreed to buy it, and it quickly was evident it was a scam. Buyer mailed two 'checks', from two different out-of-state banks for a total of around $2,350. He of course, expected my cousin to attempt to deposit the checks and immediately forward the overage money. The checks would then bounce and my cousin would be out $1,700 or so........ That's not what happened though. She turned the checks over to the bank, who will be notifying the authorities.

Which is why I've always placed in my listings, the following: "Cash on the barrel only, no guarantees or warranties, implied or otherwise, ad stays up until sold." Because I had an incident in the pre-Craigslist days, where I was selling a car, and I got a call through the TTY for the Deaf service, and this was after reading about how overseas scammers were using that service to rip people off. When the 'buyer' mentioned sending a check for much more than the selling price of the vehicle (which I had up for $1000), my BS radar went off the scale, and I told the 'buyer' no, that was not acceptable, that their 'cousin' (who was supposed to pick up the vehicle, keys and title) would have to have the actual cash on them in order to buy the vehicle. After that, all ads state 'cash on the barrel,' for good reason.

    Really, you have to ask?
You might find the real owner of that car by doing a Google image search with one of the pictures.
