    Hi everyone!

I'm new to this great forum and happy I found it! I have fulfilled my childhood dream and imported an 1989 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser from Florida to Germany.
The Olds arrived a couple of days ago, and I can't wait to cruise around! I have to do a few things, before I get the german TÜV approval to drive it here in Germany.
Already found nice information in this forums, and posted my first question in the Automotive Tech part about my tailgate ajar lamp problem :)

    Best greetings from Bavaria!
    Gabriel :)

Hi gabgab. Welcome to the Forum. That’s a great looking wagon. I really love tan interiors on red/garnet colored cars.

Thank you :) Yes, I liked the interieor / exterior colour mix, too.
I will take more pictures, when I am back at home. AT the moment I am on a business trip and will be back in maybe 2 or 3 weeks. I will post more pictures then :)

Looking forward to seeing them. Enjoy your wagon, once you get it’s cleared. You won’t see yourself coming and going in that car. It’s a bute. Are you originally from Florida?

    Hi Mercman,
no, I am from Germany. I lived in California a couple of years ago for round about 7 month, doing an internship in the US. But that's it. Since I was I child, I love those american station wagons like the Olds Custom Cruiser, Chevy Caprice Wagon, Buick Estate... and I saw that car on ebay located in Florida, and bought it without having seen it in real :) A little crazy, but yeah... That's how it is :)

Hey gabgab that's funny you say that, when I bought my Vista on e-bay it was 1800 miles from me(I had never bought a vehicle without seeing it first) I can imagine how you anticipated getting it home! It took me two weeks before I laid hands on mine. Hope you get years of enjoyment out of your wagon!....Longroofs Rule!

Thanks everybody! I'll be back at the garage at home, where the Olds is standing right now, on saturday. The Wagon is standing at home, weekdays I work in an other city... so I have to wait a few more days to get back and take some more pictures :)

Fixed a leaking fuel line yesterday, lifted the car up. Found some rust holes... damn! In Germany I will not get an approval for this car, unless the holes are closed completly... I think, this will get a winter projekt, clean the whole underbody und fix every rust damage... So I think my first cruise on the public street will be next year, too bad.

But I've got new pictures for you :) The interior panel of the tailgate is missing because of my tailgate ajar problem... did not put it back in yet.

Hey gabgab. A very nice looking car. Thanks for all the pictures. Hopefully the rust won’t prove to daunting a task. It’s amazing when I lived in Chicago there were cars running around there where you could see the street through the rusted floorboards. Germany would be appalled! Again thanks for sharing.
