Welcome Sam. At least you shot the glass! Some kids shot 2 out 3 of mine parked in my own yard. Drove around for 3 months waiting for replacements. Then I spent $4,000 on a new 7 foot fence, all around the house! My wagon is allergic to BB Guns.
the sad thing is, my BB gun was only pumped twice. If I'd had it at full power, I would've payed for 2 windows.
Hi Sam and welcome to the forum. It's always great to get another long roofer in our midst. Your wagon looks to be in beautiful shape, even with your bb gun in close proximity! I'm sure that glass was just as big in pain to clean up as it was to replace.
I forgot all about this site! LOL Well, since the last time I posted here on Station Wagon Forums, a lot has happened. The starter had to be replaced a while back, and the transmission just recently went out. The old beast had been a very reliable car for me, and I hope to put in a new tranny soon so she can be my daily driver again. Right now I'm stuck driving my brother's Toronado Trofeo, and it just ain't the same. Other than the transmission, the car still runs great and looks fairly good. There are a few minor dents and dings, but nothing too horrible. I already miss driving her...
:16suspect1: FORGET US? How could that be:confused: Don't worry your baby will be back better then ever before you know it...forget us...
I'm sorry Sorry, but I have been really busy with school and moving to a new place, as well as many other important things. It happens sometimes...
Thanks! Hey, should I post the letter I wrote to my wagon when the tranny went out? I think it would fit right in on this forum. If so, where should I post?
A letter to my car Dear Beastie, From the moment I first laid eyes on you, I knew I was in love. When I saw you standing proud and looking strong, with your chrome trim gleaming in the late summer sun, I just knew you were the one. I still remember that first test drive: the smooth ride that could rival a Cadillac's, your motor gently purring as we drove around the block, the feeling of pure power from your small block 350... I felt I was in automotive heaven. I remember being so proud to have my very own car, and a retro station wagon at that. Do you remember that first winter, when we got heavy snow? You made it seem like nothing more than an inch or 2. And all the adventures we had together: driving to Shoreline and Kenmore and Lake Stevens, Howarth Park and along Marine View Drive... Racing (and beating) Mustangs and other cars from the stoplight; even once beating a Corvette! Taking my driver's test, failing the first one because I accidentally steered you too tightly and got stuck on a rock, then passing the second with flying colors after a bit of practice... oh, those were the good times! But then I noticed you started getting sick. Your starter went out, and we replaced it, only to later start having transmission troubles. And as the winter months came in, you started getting worse, stalling at stoplights, moving sluggishly when pulling away from the curb. But you still gave it your best, and after a few minutes of driving, you seemed back to your old self. I should've known not to push you too hard that last day I drove you, especially considering the snow and ice conditions, but alas, I didn't. You took it like a champ, even when we did that 180 slide on Casino Road. I never expected to find that you'd given up when I started you up this past Wednesday, especially since your engine roared to life immediately when I hit the ignition. At first when you wouldn't move forward I figured it was just ice blocking your path. Once I got you out in the road, however, I knew there was a problem. No matter how much gas I gave you, you refused to move forward. I know there's still hope of bringing you back to life, but now I can't afford the transplant. So for now, I have to abandon you in favor of my brother's car. I'm so sorry. I still love you. Love, Sam
Good letter. At least you're still engaged. One of the guys posted a SUPER SEARCH link yesterday, that might help you find parts for decent dollars. I reset it for my needs, (1978 to 1983 Fairmont), but you can do the same for yours. http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.c...ys=1978&ye=1983&ps=&pe=&pgs=100&submit=++++go++++
just a quick note: When looking through the original factory papers, I found that the transmission is infact a Turbo 400, and not a 350 as I originally stated. Sorry for that slight mix-up.
