    Exactly right! Hahaha!

As for Joseph, he doesn't want a stick, or even a car. Could not even get him to TRY to shift it. I'm at a loss with him, all he wants to do is play video games and lay around the house, and he's 18 for goodness sake! He'll be asking his baby brother for rides this summer. I'm making both of them get summer jobs, and walking to work in 100+ degree Texas heat will change him mind I bet!!

That said, 13-year-old Lily and 12-year-old Eddie both REALLY want to try to drive the X-11. Once I get the bugs out of it and get plates for it's we'll have to take it to the ranch and let the kids practice on the dirt roads there.

Lily wants a New Beetle. She loves them. My buddy Truong's daughter has a tan New Beetle convertible, and I already told Truong once she's ready for a new car, that I want that VW for Lily. That'll be another project...got a few years on that one though.

As for the GTO, I can't start it, because once I do, I can't stop a project, so for now it's garage art. I'm mid-project on Eddie's K5 Blazer, Dad's '82 Z28 Camaro, and now this X-11, and I'm still trying to get my Roadmaster back from my friend Rich.

The GTO I'm saving for when I get the big kids out of the house. A few years from now I figure Tuck, who is 5 right now, and I can tackle the Goat together when he's older. He loves the GTO, and I keep finding him in the garage sitting in it and pretending to drive it...making "vroom-vroom" sounds. Ha! For now it's safe, warm and dry in my garage waiting for it's turn. I'll get to it, I promise!

Thanks all for the comments, and glad you like the pics!

    -Mike

Very cool! I remember these cars well, and considered them a good car for the era.

I was working for a Chevy dealership as a service writer-in-training when these came out in 1979. An old guy came in with a '70 Imperial LeBaron hardtop and traded it off on the very first Citation we got in...my Dad ended up with the Imperial to pull his travel trailer with! These were built down the street from me at the Oklahoma City GM plant. These were the very first cars built there, along with the Pontiac Phoenix sister car. That plant is now part of Tinker AFB.

:yup: I hear ya on that as my GS400 is in the same predicament; garage art until the kids fly the coop. My son is off to college in the fall and my daughter is a couple years behind him.

Meanwhile, there's the rest of the fleet...

Nice job on the ol' Citation there!

Yeah Yeah Dewey we've heard this before...

Just kidding our a great dad Mike. That sounds like a good plan, I guess that GTO will wait for you to be ready in the great Texas climate. I can relate to kids not wanting to drive. #1 no issue. #2 sounds like your Joseph, he didn't get his license until after our grandson was born. #3 I convinced her to take a Young Drivers of Canada cours while she was at Community College. Sge got her license but hasn't driven a day since. They don't take after their mom that's for sure. :chirp:

My wife is over 21 and has no desire to drive. It's scary because we live in the country and I may not be driving forever. :chirp:

My Mom never got her license. Dad tried to teach her a few times, but she had zero desire to drive.

Dito, My Mom growing up was the only Mom who never and refused to drive yet on the farm gravel roads she with out us ( and it drove me nuts) would alone get on the horse and buggy and blast down the gravel road. When she took us for a buggy ride it was all ways "clipity clop"

Cudos on you Mike for getting him the car, maybe a bus pass for the other.

I will ad though, I find it strange that a lot of kids today have no interest in driving. A lot of my kid's friends male and female don't have a license and they are now getting into there mid 20's. ????

Wait! I thought 18yo boys worked like this :

    A) Chase girls! (What do they want!?)

    B) Get a job to make money to pay for "A."

    C) Stay in school, and/or continue job training to get a better "B" to pay for "A".

I'm not sure where playing video games and laying around the house all day fit in this picture. Again,?

    C) was me in school and work 1st long before 18 because.....

    A) referees to me figuring out (C) because I wanted (B), because all I was after was (A) long before I turned 18

    B) started before I even figured out what (A) was, but I wanted one of each(y)

So I did (C) witch directly related to (B) witch got me a car at 15 so when I went to school age 16 that day, in my own ride, I got (A)

Witch led me back to (C) because it directly related to (B) witch was needed to keep (A)

...... and if we wanted a video/pin ball game, you still needed $ witch (B)+(C) were needed because you had to go to the arcade, and what would you find at the arcade.......(A)
I don't think I ever went back to the arcade after 16:evilsmile:

Moto, don't know if you have kids but you have all the A B C's figured out, I just simplified it(y)

    :D(y);)(y)
