Frame repair and new go fast goodies

    Melting tires, eh? That's what the new asphalt will likely be made of. The pot-hole fixing departments are whining that the old stuff went from $400 / ton to $800 / ton, and they can't get any. Too busy making gasoline, I guess. Melting tires, that's a good one. :D

    With your S/C mock-up, I was wondering whether you ever considered dropping in a DOHC 4.6 instead of the 5.0? What issues would you have to deal with, since the next-gen C.V. had the 4.6?

    The floorpans and firewalls are a bit different on the newer cars and the 4.6 uses a different bellhousing. I'm not sure how different the frame mounting points are on the newer chassis. I'd love to swap an 03+ frame with a blown 5.4l under my wagon. Maybe a later stage of evolution. Even a blown dohc 4.6 would work OK. A friend of mine has a Trilogy Marauder that I've been lucky enough to drive. It runs 12.2-12.4 and is just amazing.
