Update! OK - Back to the plan. Not sure I've updated the latest details. The wife generously offered to have us sell her 2003 Explorer instead of the 2006 HHR. Turns out she really likes the SeriusXM radio.... Well - we've done that. Sold the Explorer to the first (and only) person who's looked at it. He got a dang good deal, and I think he appreciated my honesty about it - 2 accidents (one a biggie...). Thing is, I had all the documentation on the repairs, and photos of the big one showing him what it looked like. had proof I was the only owner. (Note also - 'CarFax' has NO RECORD of the big accident the daughter was in!) ...................................................................................... Soooooo.................. Now the big search starts. I've got a vehicle in mind. Don't know what will happen on it yet. Haven't even discussed price, but will probably be doing that soon.
COOL, KK! Didn't know you sold the Explorer! Now....we are dying to know about this secret car you have talked about so I hope you close the deal and get what you want at a good price and then............SHOW US!
That didn't take long, hope X doesn't see this and how fast you sold your Explorer. And another Ford owner turned Chevy...So another mystery...maybe we should start guessing...
congrats KK! and i just wanted to let you know in case you were wandering, i went to look at the toronado and test drive it yesterday, it was a POS! steering was off, there was a problem with the electronics, wheel bearings were junk, and off course as i already knew the tranny was slipping, so i walked away, so the search goes on! but once again, congrats man!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Good decision. When you look at something that old, you've really got to make an expense list to see how much money you're going to throw at it after you buy it.
yeah, and Nada Guide on its like $2,125 and it would have been over that, so i walked away, im still lookin though. what im lookin for now is an older G.M truck (from like 70-98) or suburban, i have around 800 to pay, but it doesnt need to have an engine, cause i can get a 350 cheap, so that is my new venture!
While I love(ed) my Colony Park, and the Country Squire I had before it, I always thought the tiny side mounted third row FoMoCo seats were pretty useless. The rear facing third seat in the GM cars is much more useable. Of course most people just use the well below the seat for lockable storage and never actually carry passengers there anyway... The 5.0 Ford engine is a vast improvement over the earlier TBI and carbureted engines, IMO. Good luck!
60's Chevy is always an option down the road. Let's just say for right now I'm interested in something a bit.......... different.
Well where else would you go but Pennsylvania to find a gen-u-ine surf woody? I'd certainly consider it, but lets see what happens out here on the left coast.
Its a little far away, (MN) but this Poncho looks nice: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m263&item=150843578008&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%252BSI%26itu%3DI%252BUA%252BUCI%26otn%3D12%26pmod%3D160821454148%252B160821454148%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D188252664538173215&cmd=ViewItem This ones in San Diego: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-OW...7797679?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4845bf1baf A NICE Fairmont in San Diego: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-OW...7797679?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4845bf1baf The '79 Fairmont has an old school straight six with a 1bbl carb. They are as dependable and easy to work on as a Briggs and Stratton. I owned a coupe, and loved the car. Ford cheaped out on rustproofing, so the salt air of Cape Canaveral ate mine up, but this one looks good.
I've seen that LeMans advertised for a long time. I'm not really excited about the styling and colors on that one....
I think I'm going to have to let the cat out of the bag...... Now, before I do, let's understand this is no way near a done deal.
