That was a minor jolt. Try living threw a 7.1 like I did here in 1989. I was on the BART train coming home from work in San Francisco at 5 04 PM when it hit. The SF Giants were playing the Oakland A's in the world series across the bay at Candlestick Park that day. The train had just come into the West Oakland BART station, just in time to see the triple decker cypress Freeway in Oakland pankcake on top of itself. I still remember the screams from the people inside the crushed cars and the massive cloud of dust once it came down.
OMG....I remember seeing the news of that quake, and the video from Candlestick. What an awful experience.
We were watching the ball game on TV when it hit...OMG it was awful...something you can only learn to live with 4ver27...
Yes, I too remember that as well. Many of the images we saw on tv news coverage of that tragic quake are permanantly burned in my memory.
We had just moved to Canada's west coast so were given a lot of harrassment by our friends back on the prairies to give our heads a shake and move back to the land of no shaking and lots of baking. We watched the whole thing unfold and felt so badly for those who were harmed in that awful event.
