You could even mount it 180°, as long as you're using an active and a passive slave cylinder of equal capacity, to work the booster and dual cylinder unit. One would never suspect mounting the booster and dual cylinder next to the gas tank, until the hood is popped. There would be absolutely no braking difference, between original and custom mountings

I'm not too stressed over it. The front rotors barely fit inside the wheels, and with this amalgamation of parts, I was actually expecting a spongey pedal with a booster. SHOULD be plenty capable of stopping better than stock.

If your setup is four-wheel disc, it's the nature of the beast to feel spongy. But boost is necessary on 4-wheel disc brakes because the hydraulic ratio isn't enough to be effective without it. Or you have to stop like Fred Flintstone...both feet!

The cars I used to drive which had 4-wheel discs were never pedal spongey. The only complaint I've ever had with them is the higher force necessary to get the same parking brake effect

Well, he called it ''spongy,' but I instantly knew he meant that it takes more force to actuate four discs. To reduce the amount of force necessary, a M/C with as big a bore as possible may alleviate the force problem. It would have to come from a large vehicle, say a modern 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup with full disc brakes.

May the force be with him

That's what I meant. I think the newer Explorer MC will be a decent unpowered match for the rest of the system.

Back to the junkyard for the complete intake setup off the Gen 1 Mark VIII.

Hopefully this will clear the hood now. I can tell you it looks better.

Found this 1996 Town Car nearby that had an immaculate interior. I struggled with the desire to just throw these seats in. I ultimately realized that it would be "cheating", and likely more work to get the rear bench to match in appearance and plushness. Oh well.

I did nab the carpet though, which is a super nice piece that should suit my enlarged trans tunnel well. Just needs some minor adjustments in the rear (just threw it in here for this pic). You can't beat it for $18.

Wow! That's a score on the carpet!

That is nice! BTW, just looking at the pic of you on the front of that Mark VIII made me shiver. As for the seats, if you buy both front and rear seats, then take the rear seats from both cars to an upholsterer, I'm sure they could adapt the leather to the wagon's seat frames.

You're joking. It sits way lower than the original carburetor with air cleaner set up

I thought about just skinning the rear seat to do that, but the stock seat is so square. I also would have all this lincoln embroidery everywhere.

Or, actually remove the stitching, and have the head of Mercury stitched in to cover the area.

This almost looks like a Chevy six with an unknown air cleaner and a Harrison radiator cap
