I've now put 1000 miles on the Dodge since bringing it out of it's 17-month-long abandonment. Knock on wood, it's so far being totally reliable!

The only thing I really don't enjoy is finding it in the parking lot after work. With my wagons, my Cutlass, and the other toys I have no issue finding my vehicle in the lot, but in Texas, where everyone has a truck, the Ram hides from me.. I feel like such a conformist..... :slap:

My brother called me on Sunday. He had an incredibly scary experience with is '95 Dodge truck on Friday. He referred me here. Since then I've spoken with folks with Dodge Trucks in to the early 2000's who say they have had similar experiences. My brother has had his truck for 14 or 15 years and this is the first time it has happened.

It is referred to as the Dodge Truck Death Wobble.

My neighbor also had the problem with his later 90's Jeep wagoneer and knows of several others with the same wagoneers who also had the sameproblem.

Well I played with the Ram a little more this weekend. The faded-out door handles and door mirrors are now a nice semi-gloss black. I know they are supposed to be bare plastic, but they were all faded out and beyond Armour-All fixable.

Speaking of Armour All, I'd used it on the tailgate handle and the passenger door handle. They tailgate handle was not terrible faded, and with Armour All, turned back to black. The passenger door handle was almost white, and the Armour All really didn't help it, so I didn't bother putting Armour All on the other handles or the mirror housings. Glad I didn't.

When I painted those this weekend, the only paint issues I had were on the passenger door handle. I'd used Windex to clean off the handle first, and thought that would be all that was needed to remove the Armour All, which was three weeks old. On my first coat, the paint bubbled, and I ended up having to clean it off and do it again.

I did not bother to paint the tail gate handle. I've kept it treated and knew the paint would never stick to it. Again just glad I never treated the mirror housings or driver's side handle.

Pics are not great but you get the idea!

Oh and the white Ram above belongs to my co-worker. It's three years newer than mine....and I like his wheels. I gave him a hard time about how dirty his was, and his comment was that his truck looked fine until I parked next to it.

I love doing that sort of thing. Have my vehicle all clean. Park it next to one that isn't, wait for the owner to come out, troll to my heart's content.

Get on your coworker about cleaning up those headlight lenses.
    I hate Dodge trucks------Here's mine!
It was dirty here. Just parked it under bridge in central Illinois after driving 1000 miles in rain.

    The fun never ends!

I got my S-10 back from my father, the truck he's used the past three years, and sold it on Friday to fund my new Custom Cruiser. Gave Dad the Dodge Ram, which was not my favorite vehicle of all time, but I'd made into a nice truck, and was a nice step up for Dad in both age, condition, options, roominess and mileage.

Dad is not a Dodge guy either, but really liked the truck. Took it up to the ranch this weekend and really enjoyed it.

So this morning someone ran into it in the Wal Mart parking lot. No note. People are just idiots!

Dad, who has kept the Dodge spotless since I gave it to him last week (he's waxed it already), is just totally sick about it.

I sent him to get an estimate to fix it. We'll get it fixed next month after the Olds trip.

Never a dull moment in life.

Mike - you might want to try a Paintless Dent Repair guy on that.

It's to the primer under the black scratches. Paint chipped off. Dangit.

Bummer Mike. I feel bad for your Dad. Not a great way to start ones tenure with a new vehicle, it gets slammed in a parking lot. I'd still try the dentless guys just to see. A buddy here had one come out and they also painted a wee bit of damage, matched perfectly, was inexpensive (relatively), and the guy was impressive to watch.
