You must admit, it would look cool getting pulled by a Panhard wagon. Whether it has the oomph to pull it is another matter...;)

I don't think the Panhard has either the weight, or the oomph under the hood, to tow that boat safely. If memory serves it is a sub-1 litre 2 cylinder 2 stroke and probably puts out something around 60 horsepower. I may well be wrong, but probably not off by too much. The Citroen, though, will have just enough oomph to pull a boat like that! So great to see such interesting cars being USED as cars!

    Hi wagon-fans,

The boat would look great behind the Panhard. However, it has a 848 cc (that's about 52 cubic inch) 2 cylinder-boxer 4-stroke engine. About 50 horses when new...
The Citroën DS has a 2175 cc (133 cubic inch) 4-cylinder in-line. It will pull about any trailer.
If that's not up to the job, I fire up the UNIMOG 421:

It will tow away just about anything! :)

The Unimog has my vote for an adequate schlepper.(y)
The Panhard definitely can't pull that boat with the size of that little sewing machine engine.
The Citroen has a better chance, no doubt.
Perhaps a lightweight aluminum boat and trailer would be more like it...or lightweight cartopper boat like shown in the picture.

That Unimog is quite something! There is one in Toronto, and I can tell you that the size and capability are incredible. One one show I was working, had the Unimog been able to rescue the generator truck from where it landed, they were going to have to air lift it out with a helicopter, because nothing else could get in there!

Yeah, it's no stationwagon, and it's old ('66), but it sure will tow! (y)
