Thanks again for the welcome, I have already read and learned so much here. Whatever I get, I can tell I will be able to share & learn things here. Welcome to the weekend!
JPT A tire shop I worked for many years ago we stuffed a 460 in to the shop E100 just for the hell of it. It had a 12'' drive line It would pull the front wheels off ground if you got on it too hard. Rick
I thought I should check, even thou I am reading every day . So I am building a FM radio station and this is the storefront I leased. I doubt I will be buying a car in the near future as money is tight right now.I wanted to share my project. I am seriously rethinking my van idea after lurking here, lol. Some great examples of wagons here. Guy
Ha ha! Wagons get under your skin, the things you can do with them and the mods are endless. Good luck with your station Guy hope it's very successful!
Bel-Air Wagon So this is in this small town of 700 people (Duncan, AZ) 307/auto, 1967? have not opened the doors. All sides look the same as this it appears to be bought new in Phoenix, so am thinking it is somewhat sound. If it was a giveaway, I am thinking it is savable. One thing about my van concept is the suspension & Brakes, which sucked at best, lol. Almost impossible to get a decent modern ride. This Chevrolet can take upgrades on both I assume? Any input would be appreciated. Guy
Your own FM radio station? COOL... Kinda reminds me of Cleavon Little playing 'Super Soul' in Vanishing Point......
I went over to the wagon and took more photos, will post in new album. No motor/trans, full of junk, but still a 1968 Bel-air. The house is empty with out of state owners, but they are reachable. www.kapy.org see what you think of the format.
Car looks pretty good from what I can see...body rust looks minimal from how long it appears to have been sitting. Judging by the tires and sinkage into the soft ground.
The front fenders will need to be replaced if possible, the rear quarters seemed to be solid, as I "pushed" on the rust and it held solid. This would have alot of options as far as a donor motor.trans, etc. Wicked, has the knowledge, don't reinvent the wheel, just make it spin straight. Wicked's 1968 Bel-Air Project I should have a better idea after contacting the owners this week, Guy btw: Speedo shows 63,223. Think it is original or rolled over once? 163K is alot of miles for this old of a car to have traveled.
So I tracked down the owner (local) of the 68 Bel-Air, It was his father in-laws, he plans on restoring it "someday". He did ask what I would offer, I just said "if you have a emotional attachment to it, then I really don't want to make a offer" I did make sure I let him know where the studio for KAPY is and told him to stop in anytime. I found last week in town, kinda cool. 1952 Pro Street with a 396 waiting to be installed.
The 52 Chevy would make a nice project if cheap enough. You could always fix it up some and trade it for a wagon. A wagon would look nice with KAPY and other identification on the sides.
