Roadmaster, you gotta go for it. How often does one have the opportunity to own a car with so much family history. You might even find an old candy bar wrapper you left under the seat years ago.
Coincidentally, my granddad had a '62 Buick convertible as well. His was a dark maroon Invicta with a black roof and white interior. I seem to remember it had buckets with a console, but I'm not positive of that; I'm not even sure Buick offered such a seating arrangement. I loved that car. Every time Grandpa and Grandma would come over, I'd put down the top and just sit in it in the driveway imagining all kinds of scenarios. If I ever ran across that car, I'd do whatever I had to do to buy it, even though it's not a long roof.
Good luck. Let us know what you decide.

Based on the chart, my granddad's was the burgundy. I wonder why GM didn't come up with a more creative name for that color. I couldn't find one like Grandpa's, but was this the color you were talking about? Gorgeous and so early sixties.

Grandpa's car. I'm a grandpa myself but if I had a chance to buy grandpa's car right now I'd jump at the chance. That's if it would be a nice driver and look good at ten feet. I learned to drive mostly in grandpa's 1954 Chevy 150 4-door. A light blue plain-jane car.
These were mom's parents. They traded it in 1958 for a Nash Rambler 4-door. I've mentioned it before. It was a tri-color with mostly black and pale pinkish color, and probably white. When grandpa passed on grandma drove it for maybe 10 years until she didn't feel safe driving.
I can't remember, but I could have had that Rambler very cheap or free. I already had a 1965 Mustang fastback I'd bought new plus several old cars. No way did I want granny's old Nash!
But there were many memories in that Rambler and I'd love to have it now.

I just remembered. My dad never drove. And my other grandpa, his dad, didn't have a car either.

Hmm, '65 Mustang fastback or a '58 Nash Rambler 4dr in black, white and pink. I don't care how cheap the Rambler was, I know you made the right choice in passing on it and keeping the Mustang.

That's what I thought way back then. But I kind of like those Ramblers now. I'd still take a Mustang fastback over one.:)
I'd never sold the Mustang anyway. I'd used the Rambler as a driver.
That was another reason I didn't take it. Had too many dirvers and wife never has driven.

You don't want to pass up that chance, like they all say. How often does that happen to anyone? You won't regret it.
