That's what we have now. Our Federal leaders swear an Oath to The Queen and her Heirs, not Canadians. Not even Canada.

BTW, The Queen and her Heirs and some of the titled old Lords' Families were granted and still own huge tracts of land and until 2 years ago, owned the Hudson Bay company (who owned Zellers), a mining company, and other old resource firms.

One I know of personally owns a huge resort in Northern BC called 108 mile ranch and permitted that the town of 100 Mile House be built on his original land grant of 12,000 acres. His dad was QE I's Exchequer. Good businessman, good rancher and fair-minded. And still part of her Heirs.

    How to stir the pot?

I just sent this to your President, my Prime Minister, my Provincial Premier and my city's Mayor, because of this article:
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30579857/

It basically says that it would take up to 30 years to acheive a net emissions reduction, using Corn Ethanol. Really?

Our guy wants to flog our Tarsands oil which pollutes like all get out! This won't go well with his morning toast. But I was polite.

Since I'm no longer in the Military, its not subversive or treasonous to ask our friendly neighbour and NAFTA leader, with CC's to my own national and civic leaders about an issue that seems impractical and too long to work out as intended or envisioned.

Our guy is anal about it, and your guy seems to be looking for a cost-effective solution. Your guy has more OOMPH on the subject. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that my Premier, Mayor and the Whitehouse acknowledge the email, and my Prime Minister will send me a pre-formatted response within 2 months, via some twit in his press office.

Meanwhile, off I go to the junkyards for a little fun shopping before the next 3 days of rain, snow and freezing temps.:biglaugh:

Yep, first one is the Whitehouse, Presidential Correspondence team. Next will be the Mayor, then the Premier, and last or never, will be our PM.

They thanked me for my note, will review it and pass it on, and asked me to use this online system, next time. I used the old email address I had, from way back.
    http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

I always include my address and phone when I write to politicians.

"The business of America is Business" I forget exactly who said that, probably somebody I'm related to,thru marriage during Colonial Times. But,that's the way of the world, and the Truth about the American Government. Government's bestest friend is Business. The bigger the better. Mom And Pop businesses help support Big Business, but it's Big Business that reaps the big rewards, gets the sweetest deals, all the breaks and the most preferential treatment. "They" have the Trendies worried about our "antiquated vehicles" and have convinced them that ridding the world of them will save the planet. And yet,all this mining and logging, sucking the water out of the ground here and pumping it back in over there, and truly planet damaging activities like that should be permissible, as it is "good for all of us" in the long run...NO,it's good for Business. And Business is not always a good thing. Not for America,Canada or anybody else.
