    Hey Silverfox,
How do you know he lowered the reserve? I only ask because the Ebay
listing will usually say " Lowered reserve " and it currently doesn't

Click on the link and see the blue band at the top of the page.

"The seller has lowered the reserve price. Bid now so you don't miss out."

This one bid to just shy of $6000 and did not meet reserve. It looks like a really nice Malibu, but expecting much beyond $6000 just doesn't seem very realistic. Wonder what the reserve was?

Someone apparently just had to have it. Good for them, it's a nice clean wagon! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

When I see a wagon like that go for that price I sort of understand. When I see something selling for an additional 10K or more my heart stops for a second and I think holy smokes, how can that be? But if someone wants something and they have the jingle all the power to them....

Looked like a $6,000 wagon to me :yippee:

I would have paid that much if it was what I was looking for.

I agree. Obviously in excellent condition. Very beautiful wagon. I wouldn't have been surprised if the bidding had gone into the 8's......

This one gives us a pretty good indicator to compare to on these now.

Sorry....I have to say that I will agree to disagree. That car will, hopefully, NOT set the standard for Malibu wagons. Nice car...too much money.

I hate that my windows only go down half way. The 'child safety feature.' They did go all the way down on my P71 Vic's, though.

I always liked the power vent windows. Never understood why they didn't do that on the full-sizes, at least not on any I've ever had. My buddy had them on his '84 Cutlass Supreme.

They had the power vent windows on these because the main (large) glass piece in the rear doors was fixed - it didn't go down at all........

Hmmm..... I did not know that. Seems like something I would remember, and I'm surprised I don't. I always rode shotgun though.

The way that I look at is that you would pay way more to retore one that wasn't in as good condition. This way you can turn the key and enjoy it right away. The cars that were people's everyday drivers are getting harder to find and the prices of the ones that aren't chewed up will reflect that.

I hope thathe purchaser is able to join us :)

How do you tell the difference between a $5000 and $6000 car? You don't - it's a gut check. You shop the market, see what the market will bear, and bid accordingly. I don't think $6k is out of line - that wagon looked extremely clean for 30 years old.

It appears that I'm the only one that thinks six thousand seven hundred dollars is too much for a nice stock Malibu wagon. Well...It's my story and I'm sticking to it. Too much money.:yup:
