I have a pic (phone pic, so you'll have to zoom in) of the place where that Monterey is.

Thats a 55-56. I found what I was looking for, a 1954 Monterey 2dr hardtop. I'm having it shipping in from Missouri. 256 Y block, auto, white outside and white and green inside. I'll post a couple of pics when it gets here so we can all discuss how I can get rid of the green. Anyone with 54 ford/merc power steering setup willing to sell can chime it.

OK, Dad thought so too. And his '54 was a cream white with red top Montclair 4-door, not a Monterey. He said it had the V8 and 3-on-the-tree, but he could not remember what specific color scheme the interior was.

You're right OJ, I'll be watching you all like a hawk. Especially the "twinkster". Everett is pretty close, we may run in to each other some day at a car show.

I wish my dad were still alive so I could show this pic to him. He talked so much about his Merc. And how mad Mom got (they had not yet married when this happened) when he bought it with his re-enlistment bonus, citing that she had the Chevy business coupe (like a '38? I think that's what Dad said it was), and they didn't need a second car. Till the Chevy blew its top on the Grapevine (was still U.S. 99 at that time)....
