It's Rob's car, he just confirmed it And about the asking price: Well, I left that part out, so let Rob decide to tell you more about that (or not) He's lucky that the rear windows are still in one piece. It looks like Rob's car still has all the rare Caballero parts, so he can use parts from "normal" 1958 Buicks to restore the wagon The Caballero has a 122 inches wheelbase, same as the Special and Century. The Super, Roadmaster and Limited came with a 127.5 inches wheelbase. Important if you search for stuff like body mouldings ? Rob's car is based on the Century. Model #: 58-49 Body style: 58-4481 Factory price: US$ 3,145 Shipping weight: 4,396 lbs. 3,663 were built (model year 1958 Special Caballero: 4,456)

Yes, thats it. It is better than it looks. I hesitated to go and look at it as it looks like junk in the photos but after seeing it in the flesh i could certainly appreciate it. The body is in great condition for its age, no major rust holes, bumpers starting to rust, some parts rusted through. Floor pans need to be done, but have seen worse. The motor turns over now that i have taken the water pump off. The car was advertised for $9900 ono. I got it for a lot less than that. I couldnt have imported a car of any sort for the price. The guy was selling it for a friend so didnt really make an effort to make it more presentable. So i am fairly excited to get this project on the go. I have already been using these pictures as inspiration. My car was red but we really like the bronze colour. It was missing a caballero badge and a few pieces of chrome but when i got it home i found them under rubbish, lucky. It is going to be stripped next week so i will get some photos going. if anyone hears of any decent chrome parts around i would love to hear from you. Thanks for the welcomes, rob.
Rob, If you need 1958 Buick parts: Contact board member "Smartin" (Adam) at V8Buick. He recently bought a 1958 parts car to finish his 1958 Roadmaster. Also contact Ken Reeves at "Wheatbelt Buick" in Carrier, Oklahoma, USA: Phone: 580 855 2449 Fax: 580 855 2476 For some reason their website is down.... You can also try Jerry Hammer at GM Obsolete in Phoenix, Arizona, but he is very expensive to buy from: GM Obsolete
There are still a lot of Caballero wagons in the US, I will dig up some photos of the 2003 "100 years of Buick" celebration in Flint, Michigan. By the way, the brown Dutch wagon in my photos was shipped back to the US just for that occasion. So it crossed the ocean 3 times now
Rob. Very attactive wagon you have there. Good luck with the resto...looks like your on the right track
1958 Buick estate wagon Dear All: I'm putting my 58 wagon back together. The rear end was a total mess and I have virtually no references for what the cargo area should look like. Can anyone send me pictures of the cargo area, maybe what the back of the rear seats are supposed to look like. I believe there is supposed to be a vinyl cover on the rear inner wheel wheels ... does anyone have a pattern? Shots of the dash? The original and new paint job is pink; yep, top and bottom just like the ID plates said. Cheers. Michael.
Dear Erik: Thanks for the note. I have all of those in book form. Unfortunately, it trying to find the soft parts listed. And pictures. Cheers. Michael.

Dear Erik: Perfect! So that's what it is supposed to look like. My guessing was close, but your pics show me that I was going to make one mistake. Thank you again! If it is not too much trouble would you be able to email me larger resolution pics so I can print them? michael@frame30.com Cheers. Michael.
Dear Dan: And thank you as well, most helpful. I just noticed the pics were from two people. Cheers. Michael.
