Has anyone gone through the process of converting a 1981 chevy malibu 4 door wagon to a 2 door wagon. placing full size malibu doors and cutting the rear doors and welding them shut. what did you use for the rear windows and the door panels? where there any frame reinforcements involved? Thanks for any input.
Here is a picure of something similar to what i am looking to do.

I am currently in the process of doing a 2door conversion with a 66 Malibu Wagon. I used a 66 ElCamino as a donor for my doors, B-pillar and quarter sections. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29015&highlight=rmay
You could probably check out an 81 ElCamino since they are built on the same platform as the Wagon.
I usually start my builds by cutting and pasting pictures, drawing and building a diecast or plastic model of my design. This allows me to see my ideas and make changes along the way. It is also a good way to select color. Photoshop is another great tool but I have not learned this one yet.
Good luck. Sounds like a great project that you can have a lot of creative fun with.
