Update time guys. I found out that if i engage cruise and use the accel setting i can go past 2200 and with cruise on can maintain higher rpms. Other update is a strong smell of gas that ive noticed whenever i park so i believe it might be running rich for some reason unbeknownst to me. Im beginning to think it may be that the o2 sensor is already going bad again but im new to all this so i might be wrong.
If you have a rich condition, the sensor won't go bad immediately, but if left unchecked, yeah, it'll go bad. Visually check all your vacuum lines again. Look for splits in the ends, soft spots, etc. Make sure the sensor pigtails are all good and not shorted together or to ground, especially on the O2 sensor. Have you tried pulling codes?
There should be a code clearing procedure also, without wiping out your fuel trims. Do that, then drive it normally before checking for codes again. You may want to wait a month or so after the code clear.
So yet another problem. Hit a pothole and think i broke something. The whole front end is sort of just floating around after a turn to the point that i can see roll. I cant see whats wrong so shes going to a shop and hopefully i can get that overdrive issue looked at too.
So got my car back. She was guilty of breaking a lower control arm and a busted band on the tire. The shop couldnt find the tranny issue though.
Sometimes you have to take their tech for a ride, as you know exactly what causes the symptom and when.
Doh i should have thought of that. Oh well there is always a next time. Just glad that my baby is ok now besides the tranny
Well during my break i went ahead and overhauled the entire fuel assembly and did a tune-up. That seemed to help and now i have about 22 on the highway. I just have a rather vague yet troubling smell of coolant. Time to check head gaskets. Could i do a compression test to see if either gasket is blown? (Also should i make a new thread at this point?)
This'd be a new thread. Soon as you start it, I'll jump on and walk you through the basics of checking the cooling system.
