These both look familiar.......... we've probably seen them for sale before.

Hahaha that white wagon had been sitting outside for YEARS in a driveway and the current seller nabbed it after this post: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13951

I'm pretty sure it originally was listed as under $1000, and the seller called the car a "total piece of crap" in his add, and said "if you buy it and it breaks in half, you now own both halves...sold as-is". Haahaha. He also described it as most likely a parts car or derby due to rust issues and general rot from sitting for years. It was filthy in and out...wish I could find original pics, but it looked BAD.

The buyer cleaned it up, added Z28 wheels (tires on the car in the original ad we rotten/flat) and a Camaro steering wheel, and re-listed it at something like $7K. Ha!

He's been trying to sell it since. It's all over the net on many sites if you search '76 Caprice Wagon Houston.

    Such fun.

Buy it Texas Mike. With your attention to details and fixer-upper skills you could resale it for maybe $20,000. And that's for both halves!

This car is owned by a member of this forum. We like to think of this forum as a family and yet we do this kind of ill advised trashing of a vehicle we've never really seen and a fellow member's character and motives. Very unfair! I've regretfully learned the hard way (I did this exact kind of bs to another member back in May) that nothing is to be gained by this kind of unkind and unwarranted talk on here, and though apologies can be made after the fact, the damage is already done and the unity of the forum is diminished. None of us would want to be on the receiving end of such trash talk, so let's treat others the way we would like to be treated.

    David :)

Yes, you make a very valid point and I retracted my previous post because....:yup:

How ever, if you look at members history it was very clear that joining the forum was only to sell his cars and only started posting after a long absence... I belive his fist 4-5 posts were just in the for sale section. Then as we all do, we ask and talk about cars and the "what is up with that?" Nothing started rude but when answers atart coming back with caps lock, you know it's like yelling and to use profanity's towards another member is just plain wrong.

I've also been on the receiving end a few years back when a member in Holland or the Netherlands was very interested in a Colony Park that was maybe a hour from my home. Seller joined shortly after the fact and man what strip he tried ripping out of me when questions were asked not just about viewing, but a test drive sent the guy over the deep end!! You want swearing, well let me tell ya! It was soooo good not only did the thread get locked, but his last post was deleted by the powers that be!:rofl2:

This member who I speak of bout a nice Colony out of the states after this and had it shipped home.

In short, if you are going to be a member and post your car up for sale, you have to be prepared for feed back, even if you don't like what you hear.

If I offended anyone, I'm sorry. I do see the seller has now painted the car....maybe he fixed all the rust issues as well. I have not seen it in person, but do clearly remember the "before" pics.
