I think they'll have that car A VERY LONG TIME for what they're asking!
Too bad they did a new paint job. From previous pictures, it looked nice
enough to leave original and enjoy it.

I agree. In my opinion, the car was more appealing before the new paint. They're only original once.

The seller is a DEALER. Dealers want to sell cars. Dealers aren't interested in "patina" or originality. They want to brag about this sort of thing as much as possible in the ad, of course, but, more importantly, they want a car the presents well. This means one that sparkles and shines everywhere and that doesn't have any surface rust, dull spots, nicks, chips, fade, or whatever, no matter how original the paint job might be.

If this were a private seller then, yes, I could see getting on his case about taking away some of the car's originality, but a dealer? No. These guys are in business to sell cars, not preserve history, and once a car gets into the hands of a classic car dealer who plans to sell it, expect it be "refreshed," as he puts it, as much as he feels necessary to get it ready to sell.

Let us know if you get to see it. Still on HMN at $23.5k. Personally, I think anything beyond $16k or so is lunacy. It's nice but not $20k nice, although that day may eventually come.

Why are you apologizing? Did you make it snow?

I meant I was sorry he would not have the opportunity to see the Olds in person.

I know. But it came across that you were either sorry it snowed or sorry that he had to shovel snow, either of which was pretty funny.

Besides, the snow is over now. Can't he go see the car now? It's not like the snow was preventing him from ever seeing the car, right? :)

Flying out to Tampa tomorrow afternoon. Short week so I don't know if I can skip out and see the car. Sure will try.
Snowstorm turned out to be 3 inches here in central Jersey. Schools closed for two days!
