Same with my '72 Caprice wagon... it had set in a garage for a few years. Not a drop of fluid in the tranny, but there were no leaks underneath, nor any spots of leaking fluid, it was like it had evaporated. lol.

Most likely explanation is a pinhole leak in the vacuum modulator. This would draw minute amounts of fluid into the engine anytime it's running, slowly drawing the level down.

This is not the same one that the demo guy had. That one went to Wisconsin and was demo'd

I like this one. I'd be all over it if it were not in Florida. Definitely a tow vehicle!!!

Left another message on their phone. If I didn't have a free airplane ride I wouldn't be interested in it. But since work is making me go there, I might as well get a car if I can.

WHAT???? OMG! What a shame, that was such as nice car! :( It had a nice interior, no rust and even nice woodgrain and this rare dark blue color!

My Camaro would do that. The convertor would drain back amd overfill the pan and it leaked out around the dipstick tube rubber. Start it every couple weeks and it won't do that

    Steering wheel?

I wonder why it has a 1974-76 Caprice steering wheel with the "Classic" written on it.

I can't see the tailgate real good either. But I don't see the vents in it. Still no call back. I will try one more time and then give up. I hate being the buyer and the seller

I'll be in the area next week. If you get through to owner, I'd be happy to stop and take a look - get a lot of photos for you.

That would be awesome, if the owner would ever call me back

I think I see the louvers in the gate.

Its a shame no call back... I hate it when someone wants to sell something, but they really don't... been there, done that and it seems to usually be the case with these wagons.

Once some guy with a nice '73 Caprice Estate out of LA was supposed to sell me his car (back around 2006) for $2000... once he found out how interested I was and I told him how hard they are to find, about a day later, he said he had changed his mind about selling it. :banghead3:

It does look good! I'd love to see it, just for the fun of it. Can't get another one right now.
