LS engine, 6 speed automatic, and SS hideaways would be awesome. I have a '70 fullsize Chevy, and still need to educate myself on Chevy station wagon trim levels.

Chevy made it hard to keep up, because they kept switching back and forth in the 60's and 70's between the wagon-specific model names like Brookwood, Townsman and Kingswood; and their 'regular' car line names like Biscayne, Bel Air, Impala and Caprice. Some years you had a 'Caprice wagon', some years the same thing was a 'Kingswood wagon'...........

    Somebody should make a chart..........

Hey Fat Tedy who the F died and made you Queen? Don't you have anything better to do than jump on first timers for posting?

Why do you criticize user "ssweims" for posting something after a year of membership/lurking? He wasn't "trying to Sell" - he was sharing a tidbit of info about his parts collection. The forum rules you cite don't REQUIRE you to Intro first before posting - and I would defer to the Forum Admin in any case, which last time I checked you weren't. I think you just like for other people to have to hear you talk.

If you really just couldn't resist living out your Hall Monitor fantasies you could have sent "ssweims" a private message instead of blowing them up publicly. This isn't the fist time I've seen you pretend that you're some sort of Moderator, but also with a heaping side of Rude too - and I think your act is stale.

I hope user "ssweims" continues to post more - don't pay any mind to this troll.

Someone is gonna get a nice wagon at a low price. Right at the top of the main page here have been listed a complete 383 SBC with aluminum heads for under $7,000. Others maybe $3,500 with short block.
That would be a great way to put this back on the road and still get decent fuel mileage.

As far as posting things for sale as a first post I don't think it's proper either. There are several other posts mentioning a member first introducing themselves, no matter how long they lurk.
I don't care how long you hung around outside my garage. When you do come in I'd expect you to tell me who you are, why you are there, and a little about yourself. it's just common courtesy.
Yes, it is nice this member let others know he has something of valuable for sale. Let's just do it right.

I never said it was for sale, I had a 69 Kingswood that was loaded to the nuts with a 427 and this car would make a great donor for it if it was closer.

It's OK, Cat. I would not be surprised if 'some one" was related to if not the same person as a Texas member who was banned, who by the way had joined under multiple screen names. Come to think, the way 'some one" posted in this thread, the similarities of the response makes one wonder if it is the same member yet again under another name?

ssweims already said he wasn't selling anything - this proves my point on several fronts.

    Hey Fat Tedy -

You wouldn't be surprised because you lack imagination.

My name is Brian Ammons. I live in Houston, TX. I am a longtime Oldsmobile fan. You can look me, and my handle/domain, up on the Intertubes - call me on the phone if you want (I'm not hard to find).

The "Texas member" you alludie to is Grayson W. Segrest, another resident of Houston, TX, whom I met on my own re: a 77 Custom Cruiser that I thought he was trying to sell on Craigslist. I came across this forum, and Mr. Segrest's ads/shenanigans, through my research on the wagon that I was trying to buy. I am no friend of Mr. Segrest's and I assure you if you asked him he'd say the same of me.

I'm sure anyone familiar with the posts that got Mr. Segrest banned from this forum can tell the difference between my posts and his. If not - send me a PM, and I'll share the details with you.

The fact that Fat Tedy can't discern that difference proves another one of my points. YOU, Fat Tedy, should mind your own business, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, and not go around making demonstrably false accusations.

Who, exactly, do you think you are?

I don't think this wagon has deteriorated to the point where it's only value is as a parts car. It deserves to be saved. Hopefully, it will find a new home, where it will be properly appreciated.

Price is actually going up!

Still, a very sharp Kingswood Estate that looks worth saving.
