Well, Doc...after all you have done to restore that wagon to all its showroom glory, these are small problems, right? :D
I have complete faith in you that all problems with that beauty will be fixed to perfection.:yup:

    those crappy old radios.

Crutchfield and a couple other companies make replacement radios that look just like originals and fit right into their spots in the dashboard. Come with FM too. And hookup spots for extra add-ons.

The vintage factory replacement OEM looking radios are great, however 1967 is a one off year for ford galaxie/big wagons AM/FM radios. My only option was to rebuild the original.

    doh!

the whole Lincoln/Mercury/Ford line was in the process of doing that. FM was cutting edge at the time. just like Walkmans(Walkmen?) would be a decade later. supposedly, the radios in the Lincolns were higher quality. no telling if they'd fit in a Ford, though. and you'd probably have to rebuild that one too.

Sounds great. That is the most fun you can have picking up pizza. My wife and I argue who has to pick up food or go to the store. With the car done I bet she "has" to go to the store a lot. ;)

Just came on to this thread. I just want to congratulate you on a wonderful job. I used to sit just where your kids are now, back in the day.

Take a look where pictures of Jodi's 1967 Country Squire showed up. This is a link to the 1967 Ford Full-Size Registry on Facebook. I did not know pictures were taken at the Saturday night cruise. We had a lot of compliments. Its nice to see all of our hard work appreciated with big smiles from all ages. Since its on FB you may have to log in to see it....I dont know how else to link to it otherwise.

Excellent, glad to see you going back with the "correct" wheel covers. I'm actually driving our '67 Country Sedan for a couple of weeks while my '91 Colony Park gets painted. It need to be gone through, and it will happen.

I don't know if you ever watch "Mad Men," but a 1968 Country Squire was being driven by a character and it had the Deluxe Luggage Rack that is so rare. They used to make exhaust tips that would extend the pipes, that square back end does create a vacuum to pull everything it can back into the car.

I did see the 68 red country squire in Mad Men last week. It was Betty that was driving it...well getting something out of the front seat while the gas attendant watched...

I am lucky enough to have the rare adjustable luggage rack too. I just have to save some $$ to get it re-chromed so it deserves to go back on the wagon.

Yep, that's the one. I can't decide if the car makes Betty look better, or vice versa. She drove a 1957 Country Sedan in the first season.

You can get those chrome exhaust extensions about anywhere, I seem to recall my Dad had the best luck with the angle cut ones, with the opening facing the rear. You just had to watch yourself around them that you didn't gouge a leg.

Here's our special ordered Country Sedan, it isn't really in as good a shape as this picture makes it look...
