She is coming along, huh? Thanks for sharing the photos. It always inspires me to keep at it when I see other projects in progress.

Wow! After seeing this I'm glad my door re-opened. I'll tell ya why. My tailgate on my Torino opened freely before and after it was painted, but for some reason when I installed the tailgate weatherstripping it jammed up and would not open. I lifted the handle over and over and finally after a good pull and it came open again. I re-lubed everything and now it opens freely again. But I tell ya it did worry me some for a minute there. :whew:

Nice job getting the gate open. I dont think you had any other choice since the "magic" was gone from the magic gate.

I may have left over hinges from my old gate if you need them let me know. I will have to go to the shop to see what is left over.

Looking forward to more pictures of your project.

Good stuff guys. I totally missed that one! I stand corrected:

    Patience young Jedi!

No further comment. Lets get back on track. Carry on on with your excellent pictures of the resto Schanzml. Sorry for getting off topic!

Yeah....Martin seems to have fallen off the map back in February of 2010. What a shame...he had done such a great job with the resto thread. I wish he would come back...I was and am really interested in the engine and the rest of this car's build and future. Anyone know Martin personally??

Hi all. Thought I would post a few pics of my Colony Park Restoration here. Not to take the thread. But since he seems to have dropped off the map, I thought I would keep the Colony Park "love" going.

    So far I have:

    Rebuild tranny
    New Water Pump
    New Alternator
    Belts/Hoses
    New windshield (it was cracked)
Fixed "magic tailgate" to open down and out (was only opening out)
Redid Woodgrain and refurbished the "wood" trim
New tires/rims/hubcaps (this took some doing - try finding 15 inch rims that fit over 67 thunderbird disc brakes!!!!)
    New Carpet set
    MUCH more

I'm trying to decide if I want to paint it or keep it with patina. Not sure yet. I still want to do the front seats, too. I love driving this beast.
