Nobrands usually mean "Made in China". The European Union has legislated in a secrecey law for such imports. For example, when I enter an ALDI to buy a can of stewed tomatoes, the product origin doesn't have to be disclosed on the can anymore. If I really was curious, I could simply drive the 60 kilometers to Switzerland and buy a can of ALDI stewed tomatoes there, to find out where the contents originated, since Switzerland has not joined the European Union. Thus, not obliged to comply with their laws

China has yet to surprise me with great quality. There was a reason why I had to redo that stud area. It was cheaply made.

That is dangerous. I never want to buy food from China. There have been so many incidents with them putting odd stuff in.

I would prefer to buy food direct from a farmer, but farmers markets have become trendy and the costs are at least as much as a grocery store and sometimes the fruit/veggie is so ripe it has to be consumed that day.

They use chemicals in fish farming which have been outlawed everywhere else for decades now. These chemicals permit fish to survive in extremely dirty water.
I simply avoid buying anything from there, when possible. I don't like the way they treat animals, anyway and they're notorious for overfishing and for illegal forestry. They know no bounds and are a regional threat, since they invest heavily in military build-up, thanks to us feeding their economy at the cost of ruining ours

I did the transmission hard lines today as a learner's course for the break lines. Woo hoo for no large screw ups. I didn't have to go back and purchase more hard line.

Are those lines kinked or is it the camera which makes them appear so?

I should have taken a picture when they were out, but I thought I would have them out again. They aren't kinked. I think it might be the reflection of the exhaust on that bend.

    Got the new wheels in.

One question: Should there be any slop around the lugs?
It seems like I can rock it back and forth pretty good. I don't remember being able to do that with the originals.

The tapered seats on the lug nuts will center the wheel on the studs.
Make sure you have the correct lug nuts for the wheels; the wrong taper or seat shape will either damage the wheel or fail under load.

By the way; those wheels look GREAT on that car!!!

    Thanks!

I love the wheels. When the tires come in I will take another picture. :)

Hopefully, I will be able to start it this week. I had a power steering pump hose made and then had to have one of the ends replaced. There wasn't enough room between the pump and the block. It is on now, but maybe touching the block slightly.

Here is the engine compartment so far. I keep saying this, but I am soooo close to being done.

    Added the fuel line.

Here is where I am thinking about mounting the coil.

There is the heater control valve, it is close to where I want to mount the coil. Do you think having it that close to water connections will be an issue?

I think it will be OK on the firewall, but just make sure you have enough room to service the heater control valve without removing the coil and vice-versa.

Good point. I think there should be enough room, but I will double check before mounting.

X2! I think that you will be fine. Most of those coils are designed to handle the heat under the hood. If you have a burst of the heater hose, you will be OOC anyway.

Nice! I love it when things are okay.

Can you safely bend the low pressure input tube on the power steering pump?
