    Session 18

We had our 18th and final class session on June 3rd. We ended class early to have our end-of-year BBQ.

Ben brought over a rebuilt carb and Kris helped him swap out the old one.

Most of the class time was spent cleaning, buffing, and polishing before parents got there for the BBQ.

Then we just relaxed and had some burgers.

The adults will meet on a few more Friday nights to tune the engine some and get it ready to drive to Chehalis for the car show on June 23rd.

Cool Olive, so the project is nearly complete? How's that engine run? The roof slides, operates ok? Any sale prospects?

I see that Yellow Commander(?). Belongs to one of your friends right?

The engine is running good. We're taking it out on the freeway for the first time this Friday night to make sure it can make it 80 miles to the car show on the 23rd. The roof slides but doesn't latch in place very well. No buyers yet, but I haven't listed it for sale.

The yellow Commander belongs to Ben - the Studebaker nut who helped out with a couple of classes.

I'll probably list it for sale at $3500 to start with.

The Studebaker has been sold and now it's time to prepare for the next project.

For the 2012-2013 school year I'm going to change things up a little. Instead of buying a car just for the class, we're going to start a multi-year restoration on my car: a 1963 Chevy Bel Air Wagon.

Yes, another station wagon. Watch for the next SLHS Auto Shop build thread coming soon...
