Well, years later I'm finally true to my word and dug through the Moto family archives and turned up a few pics of the elusive 1963 F85 wagon.
These pictures were taken during a trip to downtown Atlanta to see the Shrine circus. A shriner led a bunch of us from the neighborhood in a sort of convoy from the suburbs downtown to the municipal auditorium where the circus was held. Big fun running red lights(with police escort/assistance). The photo on the left has our wagon in the middle and neighbors wagons ahead and behind. 1962 Buick Special in front and a 1964 F85 behind. See the 67 Squire passing by on the far left? Merry Christmas 2012 Wagon Style everyone!
Great pictures MM. Amazing how many station wagons there were in those days. It seems like almost every family had at least one.
I know its been a long time since there was word on this thread, but there is a very very high chance, that the wagon in question, might just happen to be the 1963 Oldsmobile F-85 that I own. My car happens to be a high compression 4 barrel car from the factory, with factory air conditioning (like what is in the picture, i have seen slight variations of it), and also originally had a luggage rack on it. If by chance this is my wagon, I am extremely thrilled to see photos of it. My family has owned the car for 18 years now.
That would indeed be very cool if your wagon was the same wagon Motomike's family had. Motomike says the one he remembers was green with a white roof. Can you tell what color yours was originally? What color is your interior? I remember one of these myself. We had a friend of the family when I was growing up that had a 63 F-85 wagon. I remember that one being silver with a red interior. We do have one member here (from my area) that has two 62 F-85 wagons, but I don't think we've had any other members with a 63 F-85 wagon. We have a couple members with 63 Meteor wagons too, so we wouldn't mind seeing pics of the Meteor even if its not a wagon.
My F-85 was white on white when we got it, I'm pretty sure all original paint, but then again im not fully sure. On the drivers side I did find some red below the white, not sure if it was primer or not, but Ill truly know when I dig into the passengers side. Hopefully the title will be able to help clear everything up. Also mine has a greyish interior with a bit of brown. Of course now I'm changing that all up since the new color combo is gold and white, and the cool part about this car is that when my dad bought it, I was a year old, and rode all the way back from Georgia to Michigan in the passengers seat. By the way, this happens to be my Meteor, and believe it or not, my dad almost got a 63 wagon a couple years back, woulda been cool, considering we also have a 62 Meteor.
