Very true, almost on par with the larger Mazda6 with a V6.

After a month or more of looking, I was getting frustrated. I had openend up my searches to include 2 door hatchbacks and even some small pickups. My golas changed to basically just wanting a manual tranny and good mileage. I had looked at a Volvo wagon with an LS1/T56 swap even. The car was terribly ugly (which I actually preferred) but mechanically it needed quite a bit of work. I was searching "swaps" on Craigslist and came across a Plymouth Colt GT with a 4G63 in it. I had a Galant VR4 roughly 10 years ago that ran low 12's and was a total sleeper so I figured, what the hell, I'll go take a look. I did a little research on current mods including ECMLink and there were a few guys getting north of 35 mpg all while making 300+WHP. Long story short, I ended up taking it home.

I had really missed having a turbo car and this car really delivers.

    4G63
    HKS 272 cams
    2G pistons
    clutchmasters clutch
2G MAF(plan on going to ECMLink and a Speed Density tune)
    SAFC II
    660 injectors
    300 lph pump
Blitz boost controller & turbo timer
    FMIC
    tubular header
    16G
    3" 02 housing & full exhaust
    Whiteline springs
    Galant VR4 brakes
OZ Racing 15" wheels (tires are way too short so I will probably change them out quickly)

I need to make a few changes to the intercooler piping since the BOV is on the hot side. There is no room for the battery under the hood with it's current routing also so I will fix that as well. I also have to make a trip to the junk yard to pick up a few odds & ends but overall it is in good mechanical condition.

As the owner of a Passatt wagon, I'll suggest you buy anything but a Passatt wagon...unless, you want to buy mine. Just kidding. I wouldn't do that to you.
