most of the time at the fittings but if it is not cooling could be orphis tube stopped up, could be leak at condensor may be a number of things you would need to put the die in it to trace the leak probably.I have never done one but they say converting over to 134 isn't too bad assuming your other system parts are functioning properly.

There are all kinds of nuts here. :)

As for me, my love for my wagon is not so much nostalgia as it is for being the perfect vehicle to do what I need it to do.

And yep, my Subaru is a thrifty fuel injected Japanese four cylinder 4WD snow machine with over 230k miles (and wears them proudly), a far cry from a full size American made four barreled V8 powered fully restored family cruiser, yet here we all are "wagon folk" just the same.

And if I live long enough to get my three kids through college, maybe I'll follow up on my dream eventually dropping into my old Subaru a closed deck 2.0 block, including water/alcohol injection, with IHI roller bearing turbo pushing 20+ psi, all twisting a full STi AWD drivetrain.

450 + horsepower in a AWD wagon weighing less than 2500 pounds soaking weight, to me anyway, would be fun. :tiphat:

And then I'd maybe even put such a Sube up against an Evo (at the track) just for grins too!

Anyway, nice to meet you and enjoy your wagon.

Here's the oily/greasy spot I was talking about. I drove him about 34-40 miles to the house and he had 0 leaks after about 30 minutes so I don't think its that serious. This photo was taken 30 minutes after I got home- notice the dry ground.

Hello friend! I love the turbo 4's man, and I'm just waiting for the day when I drive an AWD car... I'm afraid if I'd drive one now I wouldn't leave the parking lot unless I had my own. The day I first drive an AWD car will be the day I purchase one :yahoo:

If you ran E85 through your described scoobie you could probably pull out 570 instead of using h20/meth... I'm currently selling my tank and pump that went to my neon. It was a worth while mod- but everyone and I mean EVERYONE swears by the corn.

Looks good, only1! Hope you enjoy it.(y) That leak may just be the filter leaking. Now or sometime in the past.

Does anything look wrong with the engine or anything I should be concerned about?

Looks to me like the radiator may have blown or boiled over at one time or another. I would clean up the engine compartment. As long as it's a good runner just clean it up and drive it. The car will let you know if and when it has problems.

:Welcome:, can't go wrong with that, enjoy the ride!:)

    Yup!

You should think about that headliner sooner than later. If your hauling kids, your windows will be open and i can tell you from experince with my 83....it's gona be a nasty ride when that fabric 'leaves' and the origonal foam backing on the headliner starts snowing in the car:slap:
    :yup:
